We (Me and 7 friends) arrived at the park around noon, I usually get there sooner but I'm taking a summer driver's ed course so i had to wait until that got out. It takes about 2 hours to get to the park from where I live, too. I was really looking forward to riding Deja Vu, so i was very dissapointed when it was listed on the sign of rides that may not be operating today. Anyways, I used my print and go ticket which is very convenient. So now we were off.
We were heading towards Raging Bull, when we walked by Whizzer, which had no line, or so we thought. I didn't realize how big the station is, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for the ride. It was running 2 trains, and decently slow loading times kept the line standing pretty still. Decent ride, nothing to get too excited about.
Now on to raging bull. None of the switchbacks were being used, the line started at the bottom of the stairs right after the switchbacks. 20 minutes later, we were in the Back row, and probably the best ride I've ever had on the Bull. The airtime is incredible on the first drop.
Viper was close by, so we decided to head to it. 10 minute wait, so we went ahead and went on it. Something happened to this ride, I don't know what, but I remember it being a lot better last year.
After Viper, we headed over to Demon, which, of course, had no line whatsoever. I don't know how you can possibly ride this all day without stopping, papas. It's good for one or two rides, but man, there are better ones out there.
From Demon we headed over to Batman: The Ride. I love the new paint job, it makes it look like a brand new coaster. We walked through Gotham Park, wow there's no line. We got behind the wall, wow, we thought, still no line. We went up both sets of stairs and finally we found the line. Only a 5 minute wait for Batman, one of my personal favorites. After that ride, I found it to be in my top 3 for the park. Boy does that ride haul some major @ss.
After Batman, we were all hungry, but we decided to hit one more ride. We walked towards the back and found American Eagle. It was racing all day, so we rode both forwards and backwards in a span of 15 minutes. I really like this ride, I hope that it is never taken out.
We were starting to get really really hungry, so we headed out to the car and had a parking lot picnic. It tastes good, and it sure beats the price of the food in the park. Now that we had a full stomach, we headed to Vertical Velocity. Two of the girls were scared of this ride, so we only had 6. The line was a little after the stairs, so we ended up waiting about 15 minutes. Great ride, It's just over too fast.
Now came the stupidest decision of the day. The 4 girls wore their swimsuits underneath their clothes, so they wanted to go on a water ride. We went on Roaring Rapids, and boy was it cold. I was very wet and very cold, so i had to go back out to the car again to change clothes. The other 7 in my group didn't bring clothes, so spent some extra time in the bathroom in front of the air dryers

After the slight delay, we headed to Iron Wolf. The line was halfway up the stairs, so only about a 5 minute wait. I actually enjoy this ride very much, I didn't experience any headbanging at all. This ride is a classic.
Now it was around 4 oclock, and we saw Deja Vu running. YES! There were actually people on it! So we ran there, but the line was around an hour. Too long for me. So we headed to Superman, and got our ride in on that. 20 minute wait, and that has to be my favorite ride in the park. I wish i could just do the Pretzel Loop over and over and over again. What a great element.
We decided to hit Batman again, and there were actually empty seats on the trains being sent out. No wait whatsoever, and another great ride. I can never get enough Batman.
One of my friends was new to roller coasters, and she really wanted to do Raging Bull again, so we obliged. A 25 minute wait, and not as good of a ride as the first time, but still quite good. At the top of the lift, we realized there was no wait for Giant drop, so we hit that twice. We decided against the penny trick, so we just watched the strings from our hoodies float right in front of us. It was about 7:30 now, so we decided to ride Deja Vu.
Deja was running great when it was open. I didn't see one miscatch all day. The line was about 40 minutes long, and it was worth every minute, I can't get enough of the backwards boomerang, it ties with the Pretzel Loop for my favorite inversion on a ride.
By the time we got through that line, it was about 8:20, so we ran to Raging Bull for another ride on that. This ride blew the other two rides away, maybe because it was dark, but I don't know. I think i could make room in my yard for that one.

Superman was the last ride of the day. The line was to the stairs, so we got two quick rides before the park closed. Great ride, and it capped off a great day at Great America.
It didn't rain all day, but it decided to cut loose no later than 10 minutes after we left the park. A normally 2 hour ride home turned in to 3 hours because we had to go between 30 and 40 mph over half the time because of the rain.
Today was the best day I have ever had at Great America. Every ride I wanted to ride was open, and I got to ride them all. The lines were very short, so I got plenty of rides on everything.
Six Flags Great America Owns!
