SFGAm 6/6/04 MOSQUITO INVASION

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby SFGAm Shock Wave on June 7th, 2004, 7:29 am
Got to the park at 8:45. Then waited at the Season Pass entrance until 9:23. Walked to S:UF and got 1st dispatch in the front.

After S:UF, waited 40 minutes for Cajun to open. Rode in the car 4(purple). Then rode Batman in row 8 with a 4 minute wait.

Waited 5 minutes for Iron Wolf. Then went to Eagle red. Walked on to front row. The trims are on again. :(

Then hit Demon with no line. Waited 17 minutes for Viper thanks to its huge station.

Next, went on Sky Trek for some pictures. Didn't get stuck today. Then, went to Big Easy Balloons. They were actually using a switchback.

At 2:05, saw them adding the 3rd train on Bull so headed over there and waited 19 minutes for back row.

Didn't ride Spacely's or Whizzer.

At 5:00 we saw cajun had a short line. Heade over there found out it was temporarily closed. Waited 20 minutes for it to open. During this delay, they took off a yellow car and started testing the 2nd green car. Before it reopened, they took the green car off again. As soon as the ride reopened, purple got stuck on the last block brake and yellow got stuck two blocks behind it. Got them moving again, then yellow got stuck on the last block brake.

Fixed that, green went fine, then purple stopped on the lift. Got it moving again, then purple got stuck on the brake run. Finally got on at 6:22 after waiting an hour and 22 minutes.

Raging Bull also got stuck. Yellow was on the midcourse and teal was at the top of the lift. The ride ops didn't even notice at first, the trains were sitting up there and they were still loading red train. Then one of them sees it and they unload red. Reopened after 15 minutes.

Went to Cajun for a night ride and got eaten alive while we were waiting. I'll have to start bringing my pocket Off again.

Yeah, Cajun had some big problems for awhile. We go in line for it about 4pm, then around 5pm it had some trouble and they decided to switch the cars, then take them both off, and after waiting in line for 2.5 hours we finally got to ride it :p

The only thing that truly made me get made, was while waiting, like 20 people stayed in line and waited this whole 2 hour time for this thing to open, AND as soon as it opened back up, 4 people go up the exit, use fast lane, and get on before us. Sure, they paid money for them, but I also waited this whole time waiting for them to fix it.

Anyways, was my first time on the ride, not bad. Much more intense then it looks :) lol!

edit - And yes, I agree about the mosquitos, they were crazy as soon as the sun went down last night. Our last ride was on Raging Bull, and my back now has probably 30 big ol lumps caused by those things. Not to mention everywhere else on my body! At the bottom of RBs stairs, it was the worst and everyone was just swatting there arms around, so when we got into the station and waiting for back row, you look down and all you see are these people who look like there trying to dance, lol :P

Were those block backups or delay in ops?

With all the rain we have gotten, all the mosquito's egg's are hatching, and fast. If you go into the park for an hour you will probably see over 20 mosquito's. They are terrible!

20? You would be lucky. I think I saw thousands! I probably killed about 80 of those things while in Deja Vu's line at the end of the night. They were really bad!

Where were you waiting at? Inside the Queue or in the line outside of it? We were at the bottom of the stairs, My brother built a little house/village looking thing out of the mulch around the queue, lol! (He's 15 :P ) As soon as the ride opened up, and we were at the top of the stairs, some little girl walked over, looked up at him, then smashed it. Funny stuff.

And yes, last night there were many more then just 20 mosquitos, There were literally thousands of them in line for Raging Bull. I couldnt beleive how bad it was, While waiting for the last ride by the stairs, atleast 20 people actually left the line because of them :/

I didn't mean it like that. I guess what I should have said was that I went frisbee golfing around 530 and I killed 20, and got bit by 3. But I saw hundreds.
