Trip Report - 5/28/04

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby mallclerks on May 28th, 2004, 10:02 pm
Got to the park around 8:50, Gates were allready open to the parking lot which I found to be a little early, and the lot only had 3-4 cars in it as well :/

When they went to let us in at around 9:30, My friends season pass wouldnt work, so we went to customer service and after 25 minutes of messing with it, they finally decided that it was indeed not a fake card and there machines had just messed up majorily when it had been created on May 1st :|

We went to the chain on right side, Ran to V2, First in line, went in front row, good ride. Next up went to Batman, waited for front, again, good ride (We usually do backrow on everything, so we mixed things up today and decided to do front on almost everything ;) ) We went back around park, Iron wolf wasnt open yet (and through-out the day it seemed to open/close a few times) Got on Revolution with no wait. Went to American Eagle which had Blue side running, though after like 11:30am they switched it to Red, which I assume is because literally 25% of the people who got to the station would leave because it was running backwards, lol! Lots of 8th graders it seemed were at the park. Headed to a quick ride on Demon, DV as usual wasnt open. (It opened much later in the day, Around 3-4pm I think)

We next headed to Giant drop, and it was a little funny waiting in the line. Group of probably, 6-8 people behind us started smoking up, and by smokin up, I mean Pot. They then went on to Smoke cigarettes non-stop to get rid of the smell. They were climbing the rocks and all, When we got up to ride a Ride-op started telling them how smoking wasnt allowed in line, heh, how little they knew, But I didnt say anything, one being there were a lot of them, and much bigger then me, haha :P

Got in line for RB, 25-30 min wait, Got in front, great ride (Fully prefer back though) - We then left for awhile, went to the mall to get some food. We came back to park, went to the Pictorium and all 4 of us slept for 40 minutes  Tried to goto Stargate but it was closed (well, they had people coming out the entrance just then and not letting people in) Sky trek was also closed right then, with it stuck at the top not spinning. So we headed to Superman, fairly long wait actually, took backrow since front isnt worth the wait at all.

Headed to Iron wolf, short line, next went to Revolution again. Just to short of a ride, well, not even short of a ride, but only after the ride reverses is it any good, and that only lasts for 10 seconds or so :( Rode train around the park, Hometown station was closed (They were doing a lot of Planting flowers around there today, So not sure if that is why or not) Went and got my friends season pass processed. Headed to Viper, station was fully empty (was around 6pm now, so most of the schools were gone) Raging bull had small line, so we got another ride on there. Went to leave, Whizzer had empty station, so me and a friend did a ride on it. While on it I was RC accross the park was running, Im guessing it was employee's on it, Since from what I could tell earlier it still only had one car on the track? The Balloon ride was open today.

Left park right around 7pm (close) - Overall, not a bad day. Lines were not as bad as I had expected, and it was a great day out, Rarely was a cloud in the sky, little chilly out still, but it was the best day, weather wise, ive had in a long time.

And that ends my horrible little trip report :P

Good to see that you have your priorities correct! :P

Too bad you didn't get on Rajun Cajun. It was indeed open to the GP from what we've heard.

Glad to see that you had a good day, although getting there at 8:45 is a bit too early for me!

Why would u get there at 8:45? The park opens at 10:00. (I'm sure you already know that)

On Thrusday when I went Iron Wolf stopped on the lift 2-3 times. Then it was also on and off. Also on thrusday employees were on Ragin Cajun and it should have been open today.

I live in Bourbonnais, which is around 45 miles south of chicago, So the time I arrive there generally depends on traffic :p

I left home at 6:30, and got there around 8:45, so ride up took 2 hours, 15 minutes. Ride home only took around an hour and 15 minutes.
