SFGAm 5/16

Let us know how your day at the park was.

Oh man, once again I get to the park so late that parking/perferred parking is free. Rock star parking for me once again! Lord knows when I'm gonna get my parking pass, haha. I got the usual "Hey, cool car dude!" as I pull up... and a kid and his dad were full of questions about it. Anyway, upon arrival we decide to ride Stargate for the first time this year... and talk about a filler ride. What just happened? Did I just get laid? Talk about confusing plot/storyline. Everyone got off confused and baffled as to what just happened. I like the comment midway through, the kid next to me says "My X Box has better graphics". So true. Anyway, horrid ride, but the photos at the beginning were entertaining. Off to Viper we go. Opting for the 3rd row, we notice new yellow tarps tying off the gaps between bars in the queue, a good measure to take to prevent guests from crawling through... afterall we all know how stupid people can be. We're in, strapped, and off we go! Viper was running slower than usual (Suprise... as it's been hauling ass this year) but still a solid ride nonetheless. We proceeded to ride Bull, and noticed the same yellow tarps for this ride. Back row and off we go, after a mild 10-15 wait. I've probably ridden this coaster well over 600 times, and it's STILL solid and entertaining as hell... this coaster will never leave my top 10... it's just waaay too good. The first drop is as gut wrenching in back as it's always been, and the visuals are just spactacular. Seeing Giant Drop has no line, we head over and hop on. 6 SIDES WERE RUNNING! I couldn't believe my eyes, but it's true... all 6 were running. If you've never ridden Giant Drop and gone limp before it drops.. try it. It's gut wrenching as hell. After GD, we head over to Bull for another strong back row ride. Seriously, I can't get over how awesome this coaster is. After checking Demon for Brad (Damnit Brad you weren't there :( ) we head over to ride Revolution. What a SUPRISE! The program was FAR from weaksauce on this one. It started off strong and spinning... changed direction halfway through, and finished with INSANE spins! I was EXTREMELY impressed... seeing as the last program I rode was pretty lame. KEEP THIS PROGRAM and you'll have a beast on your hands. It's up to par with KMG Afterburners... almost. As much as I wanted to ride Revolution again... oh I'm sorry... Revolution: The Ride... time was limited so we head over to American Eagle. We ride in front (The money seat, haha) of red, and to our demise, all the trims were on and hard. Nonetheless, the out section is still fun and fast. With time being extremely limited we head over to Bull for one final ride. I head to my favorite seat (Back row, left side) and WOW, best ride of the year so far I've had on Bull. Absolutely insane, the ride was FLYING! Maaaaaaaaaan I'm going back next weekend. Anyway, overall thoughts on the park... man was SFGAm not lying when they said they'd clean up the park. Demon is looking spactacular with it's glossy new paint. The new shades in line for Giant Drop and Viper will help fight that summer heat, and all around I noticed a cleaner atmosphere, as Six Flags is clearly focusing on improving the overall look and feel of the park. FINALLY there is a speaker pointing toward the stairs of Bull (Even though it gets loud at times.. and yes I did notice it opening weekend but forgot to point it out.) I heard MANY MANY guest complaints about the Vengaboys song blasting in line, haha. Every time it'd start up everybody would moan. Good times. It's a small price to pay for a shiny clean park. The hand dryers still suck though. :D

Keep up the good work, SFGAm, and I'll be back for Media Day.

When I was in line for Deja Vu at around 815 on Saturday that song came on and the entire line started dancing, beating their heads...or partyboying. I myself danced horrendously bad, but I absolutly love that song now.

See, I like the song too! But I just think it's funny when it comes on and everybody moans... at least from what I experienced. Damn I shoulda been at Deja Vu to show off my mad white boy dance skillz.

I always find it helarious when, after about 3 or 4 western style songs in line for Raging Bull or Viper...Venga Boys comes on full blast...
