Not only did they lose by walking in the winning run....all 4 batters they faced in the 9th were walked. :(
Well, that happens. Great effort by Wood though. :)
Eh, what's up?

Whew. The Cubs played their Cards and beat St. Louis 4-2. Just minutes earlier, Cincy's seeing stars as the Astros beat the Reds 10-4. The Astros and Cubs are again tied at 1st in the Central.

Yet another great outing by Clement. He is now 4-1.
Lets see if the Reds can beat the Astros......

Zambrano was great for the Cubs today, but the situation almost looked like deja vu from Friday. The Cards 1-0 in the 10th inning. It looked like the Reds could end the Astros' streak, but Houston wins again, taking the sole position at first.

Cubs: 7
Cards: 3
Maddux gets win #291 and creeps closer to 300.
Walker, Lee, and Sosa all get 2-run homers.
As I said earlier....

Sosa's homer was his 545th of his carrer just as a useless note.
The Red's are going to have a tough time winning tonight though, because they will be facing Roy Oswalt who has pitched very good this year much like the rest of the Astro's staff.

Sorry for the double post just wanted to note that the White Sox beat the O's 5-4. Koch got the save though he did yield 2 runs in the 9th. WIth 2 outs and men on the corners Tejada hit a sharp grounder to Juan Uribe who made a good play flipping the ball to 2nd at the last second, and recording the final out.
NOTE: The White Sox are now 10-1 in 1 run games an MLB best

Has anyone heard anything about Wood and his suspension?
He also starts tonight. Hopefully we can get these D-backs tonight at Wrigley. :)

Koch almost blew it again, he's gonna drive us all crazy. But whatever, he's 5 for 6 in saves.

Cubs lost. They need to start getting some hits. They can't rely on homers all the time. I think tomorrow will be a good game.

Cubs win 11-3. Lee went 5 for 5. His first 5 hit game ever.
Also, another solid outing for Clement, he is 5 - 1.

CUBS WIN!!!!!! 11-0
THe Big-Z went the distance and gave up only 2-hits. The Cubs rocked Shawn Estes, finally showing this season that he truely is a scumbag who shouldn't be in the majors. Patterson had 4 RBI, Sosa had 2, Martinez had 2 and so on.

That bats have come alive again! Hopefully they will stay for a while....
When you see Sosa, Lee, Ramirez, Alou, and Patterson you think home runs...well not one run was scored by a home run.

Cubs win 5-4 in 13 innings! Ramirez tied it up with a bomb in the 10th and Corey knocked in the game winning run in the 13th.
