Weekend Round-Up: Opening Weekend 2004

Let us know how your day at the park was.
Postby Galvan on May 2nd, 2004, 6:40 pm
Althought it felt more like March then May, this weekend was great as far as Opening Weekends go.

Saturday: I meet up with Dave and Tom and we wait and wait and wait for the park to officially open, The Usher guy was a real jerk and wouldnt let us run or even power walk lol.(Like i was going to run anyway) At around 10:15 we are cleared to head out and oh course Dave and Tom Race to DV, I didnt run along but got there third anyway. (BTW: Tom beat Dave) Anyway we wait for DV to Open which was about 45 minutes. Which actually didnt seem like that long. Anyway a Park Sup tells us DV is closed indefinately whatever, so we head to Revolution: Great ride except for 1/2 way through the ride, a guy decides to take pics on the ride, which prompts the ride-ops to halt the ride and take the guys camera. Kinda embarassing for the guy id think. Afterwards its off to AEB which with the seatbelts it still was an awesome ride! Following AEB we head to SWT to ride Bull and Viper after checking the progress of DV. DV Was still acting up so we head to SWT. Viper was not different at all, who cares about seatbelts it was a great ride as was Raging Bull. Next was a comical situation for our Group, Tom makes a pit stop in the restroom, and then disapears lol, we find Tom by DV and take a ride on Demon. Then it was off too Whizzer  then around the park to B:TR,IW and S:UF. (condensed version, because im too lazy to type and i forgot the order in which we did things lol)

Track Record: 5/1

AEB: 1
AER: 2
RB: 2
Viper: 1
IW:2
B:TR: 1
S:UF:2 (Superman-Ultimate Walk-on)
WZR:2
DV:2

Sunday:5/2

Arrived at the Park at 11:45 failed to see Scott as planned froze my butt of though :(

Tracker: RB:2
DV:2
AER:1(walk-on)
S:UF:3 (Walk-on eachtime)
Viper: 1

I left the park early for some prior engagements that i had to take care of :)

Over all the park was very nice. B:TR Paint is great! Ragin Cajun looks very very small :)

I had a great time and hope to meet up with more people on this forums soon.

I'm pretty sure I saw you with who I think was Dave and Tom, once in the Deja queue and another time I ran past you in the Viper exit ramp.

Mike.

I was by STT at about 12:05 and you were no-where to be found. We decided to hit Stargate really quick. Came out and you were still not around.

I was there just so you know.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

He wasnt a jerk people were being jerks to him, he said you would be able to run when you go under the tracks then everyone ran before that when they were supposed to be walking so he made everyone walk most of the way.

I didn't mind that we got walked that far at all. It was less running for me to have to do. Especially to a closed ride lol. I wouldn't mind if they did that every day. :)

yeah, I was glad he walked us most of the way, because after we all ran to Raging Bull we were BEAT, I was still panting after I got off the ride. I'm so out of shape.
