They could transfer any rides they want to keep but aren't family friendly to SFDK, restore all of the lost theming, and retheme Planet Snoopy to Camp Snoopy! (I I think CAMP Snoopys are better.)
Why limit to just that park though? Our park can benefit too from family style attractions too, they just need to be more meaningful, and not shit like Buccaneer.
Old Great America was better, however I hope just a bit of that charm comes back

Just curious- how credible do you think that is? I had a trip out to CGA planned in September, but that park has some time left. I think I'd pivot to GADv just to get to Chang/Green Lantern.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they moved Chang to Great America, only if it was converted to a floorless. A nice high-capacity B&M would definitely be welcomed

The coaster could easily fit in Roaring Rapids' plot and the Picnic Grove. If they placed GL there, the park could easily just reuse the Green Lantern theme or retheme it to The Sawmill to fit with Yukon Territory, at the expense of Camp Car"strewn".

I was looking at it on Google Maps. If they removed those two water slides in riptide bay and had the lift hill run along side Hurricane Harbor. They could probably fit it right there without removing too many parking spaces. That would be a really cool addition for the parks 50th and a nice touch to the soon to be expanded Carousel Plaza. That would finally fill the Shockwave void and give us a giant looper right at the front of the park again

That would actually be pretty funny considering that's around where GL was going to go when it was supposed to be at our park.
Yes that is almost exactly where it was supposed to be installed It would have been an amazing addition to the park, had it been converted to a floorless. But at the time, the plans were to keep it as a standup and it didn't make much sense seeing as that we had Iron Wolf, and it wasn't well liked by the general public.
From what I understand, it is hated at Great Adventure. But converting it to a floorless doesn't make sense because they already have Bizzaro

That would be hilarious if it did end up coming to the park some 15 years after they planned to install it. With the expansion of Carousel Plaza next year, that sign by the water slides saying, "making way for future thrills" and just knowing how disliked it is at Great Adventure as a stand up. It makes you go hmmmm. what if?
Chang aside. I really wish they would just make that path right next to Sky Trek tower an easy access entrance to Hurricane Harbor.

I agree. Or the park could just move the current HH entrance to be directly adjacent to the SFGAm entrance so that you could just make a turn at the entrance and there it is. If they did the second option, I would hope they totally redid the entrance.
I hope they change something with the HH entrance. Went to HH on Sunday and entering the park was very frustrating. The line to enter HH was back to the dry park exit and took about 45 minutes to enter the park. They only have 2 metal detector/scanners at the entrance and one x-ray machine. So many pinch points just to get into the park. Then once you are in the park, you have to walk so far just to get to the changing rooms. I think it's good that you can get access to HH from the parking lot, but that entrance is too small.

Which is why I argue the one inside the park should be reopened. Two small entrances is better than one because you could offload season pass holders to the one inside the park. Also, you can earn revenue from lockers.
I for one have gone to HH a lot less since the gate change. Maybe that was the end goal, to reduce traffic?

JackGlass wrote:It's ironic that they had to put these signs up, informing the GP that this was not the entrance to the water park.
I hope they get rid of the separate entrance and just make this the entrance to Hurricane Harbor.
I doubt the park would get rid of the separate entrance entirely but it would make a great Passholder entrance. I hope that the new SF at least triples the length of the Hurricane Harbor entrance and maybe they could even add some landscaping/a mini-entrance plaza. The only problem with that is that they would need to move the handicap, electric, preferred, and motorcycle parking back a bit.
Maybe once the entrance is pushed forward there will be a grand entrance to Hurricane Harbor over near where the guest service building is.
As far as Chang goes. I remember when I saw the original blueprints and it looked terrible. The lift hill was in the old go kart plot of land and the rest of it was literally going to cut right into the middle of entrance plaza. The placement was terrible
In my opinion (Remember just my opinion lol) This would have been a much better placement for the old Beemer. Having the lift hill run next to Superman towards entrance plaza and having the rest of the ride take up the bus parking. Just move the bus parking to that grassy area where the entrance sign is next to Grand Ave.

That looks like a perfect fit! It’s out of the way and it’ll look amazing from the entrance. I could definitely see the Hurricane Harbor entrance being place there now that the drop slides are out of business. It would personally look better with the entrances directly adjacent to each other.

Great America makes a lot more $$$ then those parks and we still lack a high capacity mega looper.
If any of this is true and Green Lantern does get removed. Great America would make a lot of sense, especially since B&M does stand up to floorless conversions. Something it didn't do back in 2011
years ago, one of the members on this forum did a photoshop of Chang with the Shockwave color scheme and it looked amazing! I can't find the photo now, but it really looked sharp

Let’s freaking go! Hopefully the park can get both sides racing either next year or for Fright Fest. I will take alternating though since I can at least ride Red Side.

Apologies for late response but I've heard it through several people, many who work at the park, so obviously take it with a grain of salt, I have reason to believe in what my friends tell me but it obviously does not confirm anything, but I would bet money on these rumors
That being said, the comment about it moving over here was just a joke poking fun references to previous rumors of it's arrival here.
Some time, on way to successful, first of steps of all of the steps to being successful steps are hardest of all of the steps to successing.
If Chang gets removed, it's gonna go to a dumping ground (Looking at you, La Ronde/America)
No way it SFGAm gets a 20+ year old Coaster. Even if it is B&M.
As for the rumor itself, I find it pretty believable. Green Lantern hasn't been very popular at Sfgadv, especially as of recent.
And when it comes to the previous rumors of us getting Chang a decade ago, those weren't just rumors. We came dangerously close to actually getting it. For one, pieces of it started to arrive at the park. I remember when I worked there you could see the base of the lift track piece behind the fence by eagle. I believe at least one train was also there.
The zoning board meeting revealed how it was going to be layed out in the parking lot what is now riptide bay.
