Saw a comment on Rob's latest yt video saying a park attendant told them they were already testing Maxx at night. Is there any weight to that claim? Might explain why there were water dummies in the train yesterday without much movement.

I don't know if it's true or not but I doubt it. Wouldn't we see marks/scuffs on the white track from the tires on the train?

I don't believe the testing at night only. If your coaster is this behind, you have no time to spare. The park on a lot of days is open from 10:30 am - 8pm, and people don't leave the park exactly at 8 pm (Think 9pm). With all that noise this ride supposedly makes, they are testing this ride late at night? I don't believe this.

Rides have been tested at night. It’s really not that uncommon.
One or the potential reasons for Maxx at night I saw was to keep the gp from seeing rollbacks that might happen with initial testing.

Remember how little they care about the ride being 'this behind'. There's no evidence at this point that there's any particular date they're trying to hit. It'll be done when it's done.
I think the absolute due date to complete Maxx is prior to 9/21:
