I wonder if they will plant trees around the transfer track? Seems a bit odd having it so out in the open.

I'm still not sure how to feel about this attraction. I have a feeling it will be a hit with GP but is still underwhelming in general to anybody that has even the slightest bit more knowledge than the average park guest.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

To the majority of regular SFGAm guests, both GP and enthusiasts, Joker really won't be that impressive. The Park already has 4 major alternate position coasters, especially V2 and X-Flight already giving them a sense of verticality, twisting vertical drops, and the wing riding experience. Combine that with those who also remember Ragin Cajun and Deja Vu, then Joker really isn't that much more extreme than Ragin Cajun besides the inverting flips rather than the lateral spins.

Woody, I have to respectfully disagree with your comment about "Joker really isn't that much more extreme than Ragin Cajun besides the inverting flips rather than the lateral spins". I have one friend who already said he probably won't ride it because it might make him vomit! I think Joker is going to be much more extreme than Ragin Cajun, which I don't remember being extreme at all. Besides the spins you have those raven drops which are gonna feel like a free fall!
As for other alternate riding positions I think Superman is way more extreme than V2. You're putting a lot of faith and trust into that bolt holding the restraint. If that thing pops open, it's all over!

I have to agree with Steve here. Despite RC being a great coaster, it really wasn't too extreme. (Unless you get motion sickness)

And yeah, Joker obviously won't be as impressive as say, Goliath, but it will still rack up a long queue just as any new addition does. I'm sure even Buccaneer Battle had a decent length line back in it's debut season because pretty much everyone wants to try the new thing. Of course 5-10 years from now it probably won't be getting the same length queue as Raging Bull or Goliath, but for the time being it'll be a hit with the GP (And enthusiasts)

I should clarify, there is a difference between a coaster being visually extreme and appearing intense vs physical intensity and G force by itself. Of course Joker looks extreme and intense, but if you're only paying attention to the physical G force and speed of rotation, then Joker really won't be too much more forceful than Ragin Cajun was. Having ridden X2 and Green Lantern 4D at SF Magic Mountain, it's not the rotation that is responsible for the G force, it's the fast pacing and unique track transitions that produce those forces.

Brief freefall isn't that intense, nor is it something that would easily impress or be shocking to any regular GP coaster rider at SFGAm, as V2 and X-Flight provide those sensations and unique experience. I wasn't comparing overall intensity, I was merely showing that those 2 alternate position coasters, along with Deja Vu and Ragin Cajun in the past, will prevent any sense of awe or terror for most SFGAm park goers when seeing and riding Joker, as most have already ridden somewhat similar in concept and more intense coasters.

According to LinkedIn, Tess was the Communication Specialist and Katy was the Communications Manager. I guess we'll find out for sure at NNC.

I'd love to go, but I'm not an ACE Member. Ah well. I'm sure DejaVu2001 will record it again

If it's even allowed by ACE, is there any way someone could maybe do a live stream of the presentation? I remember the one SFGAmZone did for Goliath's planning and zoning board meeting was really hype

Whoever is goin, keep us updated :) I just saw Nagashima Spa Land's 4D free spin is all put up. Took about 2months structure wise I believe so when ours gets goin I'm really hoping this is something our park may actually have open for opening day - long shot I know but always hopeful haha.

I honestly think that even if the ride was totally ready by opening day, they still wouldn't open it so they could have their events a month later...
