So, 2016 was a pretty fun season. I accidentally didn't write down the stuff I rode on Opening Day and eventually just decided to bundle all of my trip reports into one. So here it is!
Season Highlights:
- Rode Justice League for the first time
- Rode Little Dipper for the first time since 2011
- Visited Hurricane Harbor for the first time in 9/10 years
- Finally visited the park on an absolutely dead day (Halloween 2016)
- Heard the Carousel Song in the park for the first time.. (Ever??)
- Might've rode Sky Trek Tower for the first time
- Rode Dare Devil Dive for the first time
- Saw Guy_With_A_Stick for the first time
- Visited the park on the day a ride closed (Even though I didn't go in)
- Visited the park in April, May, and November for the first time
- Visited the park in every month of operation
The only rides at Six Flags Great America (Not including Hurricane Harbor) that I have not ridden as of 2016 is Winner's Circle Go-Karts and I think 2 of the Hometown Park Rides. (Probably got one when it was in BBNP)
Highlights aside, there were a few negatives about this year, as well:
- I didn't ride Batman: The Ride, V2, or Demon
- Didn't get to visit on as many weekdays in May and August as I would've liked
- Didn't get to ride Orbit, Jester's Wild Ride, and East River Crawler on their last days.
- Didn't obtain a pair of Twizzler Headphones XD
Overall, I feel like the park improved a ton in service (Free Refills? F*ck yeah) and management this year. I do wish the park would've at least gave some sort of hint that Orbit, ERC, and JWR were closing, or at least close them on ANY day that's NOT the last day of Read To Suckceed. I wish Demon would get Blue-Hawked so I can ride it again all ready. As a coaster, it's a fun ride, but I don't like the feeling of getting my ears smashed by a hammer, same with my head. Joker looks like a pretty cool coaster (Still waiting for that launch...) and I'm pretty excited to ride it next year. I hope I can start visiting more parks in 2017 (SFA and SFSTL to be exact) as SFGAm is the only major park I've been visiting.
Have A Six Flags Day!
