Here's my solution to fix it all: Just have a certain amount of free tickets to use throughout the season. No blackout days. If you want to bring your friend in for free, you can do it, be it opening day, closing day, or July 17th if you please. No specific weekends that increase crowds. Just give each passholder 2 or 3 free tickets that can be used at any point in the season. Literally all problems regarding that would be solved.
^ I really like this idea! Works for me! I used the BAFF to take my daughter 2x this year and I also paid a discounted price for her 2x and 1x in SFOT. It would have been cheaper to just buy her a season pass (in hindsight)

I love that & have always wondered why that wasn't the reality. Whenever I tell my family I have free tickets they always bring up some random date & say that's stupid when I tell them it's a specific date only. Which sucks really cause I've prob only ever used my free tickets two to three times in the last 6yrs.
It's interesting again to say that we didn't receive the changed model. I think a littler taller version with an inline twist or banked hill(s) would make the 4D free spin really "pop" out.
Yea that was posted before they suddenly changed the name to The Joker. Who to say we still won't see a different model somehow. Remember how the lift hill was changed after they announced Goliath?!? Here's hoping I guess.
I'll never forget that, that there me for a loop. I was like wth!! But I very highly doubt that will happen with this just cause it is so standard. All I know is I'm for sure gonna get "jealous" when a new model comes out & say why wasn't that us?! Haha

No, I feel like this could bring up a more problems. You wouldn't have those few specific weeks be as crowded, sure, but you're also setting up summer weekends to be even worse than normal.
Interestingly, one of the perks of the flash sale IS a BAFF free that's good for the entire season more or less (more or less, depending on when opening day is). So I guess we'll see how that works out?
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)

Why wouldn't there be a pass holder/membership only day. Didn't JL have one the day before it opened? If there is one then my guess it would be the Friday (so the 26th) of Memorial Day weekend with the grand opening being the next day. My reason for guessing this is because the previous two Free Spins opened over Memorial Day weekend.

If you seriously think that that is a viable solution, I have nothing for you. Those neighbor homeowners to the north - both east and west of the main entrance road, all along Grand Avenue are some of Six Flags' worst detractors. They constantly complain about noise and crowds. They would a) never sell to the park, and b) their neighbors would fight tooth and nail any change in zoning of the existing houses to business to allow SF to expand in that area.
That is also why I do not think we will ever see any big coaster (200'+) on the east side of the park.
The only place that a bug (2-300') coaster to go would be to take out the Pictorium, as sacrilegious as it sounds, use that for the station and somehow weave it over, and around Hurricane Harbor towards the interstate. (Forexample, over the buildings/service road.) I was thinking of this location as a spot for years, but it is decidedly more difficult since they put in Monsoon Lagoon in 2011.
I think all of that is goin to SFOT first. Between the three of us (SFGAm, OT, & NE) were the ones with most prep/ground work to go. So we will most likely be the last to receive track. I think.
Tardis, I was referring to a general day in the park, not Joker's opening. Sorry for the confusion

I don't understand this: I thought we could only BAFF on select days or weeks, but you're saying it's good for all year (with some exceptions) ?

This is amazing!! I'm so happy that they are keeping it!! I guess I never thought they would do that. Last time they moved a building was the County Fair Train Station I believe for Iron Wolf.
Greg & I have talked about since the rumors were there. I may not have expressed much here but I've def talked about it. We took pics of the area to remember it cause we knew after they announced it, the area would obv drastically change.
