Questions about how to use dining passes

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Am going to purchase a few basic passes with the current offer ($35).
Am also going to buy a few of the Gold passes at the $80 offer (Earth Day special).

Here is the question. We're a family of six with Gold season passes.
If three of us go to the park, can we use one of the cards from the other family member in order to eat?
How closely do they check the card being scanned for dinner?

It only works if the card was scanned at the entrance. So if you want to get dining passes, get them for the people who go most often. Besides, the portions are rather large. You can always split if you need to.

How do you activate the dining pass. I have an already activated park season pass. The dining pass purchased is just a bar code. Do you go to guest services to get a card, have it linked to your pass, or can you have it scanned at the first place you use it and it just magically is linked?

You go to the pass processing center where they will add dining onto the pass.

The basic answer is no. Unless the persons season pass is scanned at the entrance, the dining pass and store discounts will not be able to be used.

And how rigorous are the scans at the entrance? Are they fingerprint-based?

If I scanned in with the kids and then left them there, could they keep my card and use it for dinner?

I bought a bunch of Gold and regular dining passes - just trying to decide how to divide them up...

It is finger-print based. As for the leaving your kids there idea, I guess it could work, but it wouldn't be too socially acceptable in my opinion.

I think you should give the dining passes to the people who go most often, and when the other people do go, make sure someone with a dining pass goes. Then you can split the food. The park has quite large portions.

OK. Thanks for the recommendations.

And when I say "kids," they're all teenagers.

(Wasn't' sure if by "socially acceptable" you meant leaving little kids there vs. violating TOS for the dining passes.)

I sort-of meant both. If they're teens, then that's fine. But the other pass thing is wrong, but if it feeds your kids, then I guess you can do it. I can't stop you, so you do what needs to be done.

Yeah, I get it.

We assigned the Gold passes to the teens. That's makes the most sense, since they'll be going the most, often on their own.

Thanks for the advice and help.

Now that I'm $1000 into SFGAM, I'd better start using it...
