I honestly don't care if attendance drops. Shorter waits for the rest of us.

It is unrealistic for Six Flags to build a new coaster every single year, but it is realistic to introduce other less costly rides to beef up parts of the park that would draw in the meantime. The aforementioned kids areas, flat rides for the guests who aren't into dizzying coaster heights... I get all that.
GAm pulls heavily from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana for repeat visitors and season pass holders. I know others have said GAm really has no competition, but they do! One CF park in Michigan (which isn't anything spectacular.. Unless you want the family park aspect with less thrill rides) or the roller coaster capital of the U.S. In Ohio.
Growing up in Indiana, we always bussed over to Cedar Point as opposed to Six Flags for our high school trips. CP is absolutely competition.. And most people go there for the thrill rides- they know it, too and cater to the crowds.
Last year they did a pretty neat revamp of a coaster, and their to be announced Dive coaster will be the first in the Midwest coming in 2016. That's what GAm is up against this year.
So whatever they are focusing on with their next ride task, I just hope they are looking at the big picture. I don't want to see a drop in revenue for our home park- I enjoy it there!
Pardon me of my marketing analysis background shines through. I did many years of it and am used to analyzing potential market threats ;)

I disagree. Great America as well as all other Six Flags parks cater almost exclusively to their season pass holders. One day tickets are very expensive, but passes are very cheap. This is also why they created the dining pass, parking pass, shopping pass, go-kart paass, and gold pass. Although it doesn't say so in their financial statements, I think it's safe to say that the majority of their revenue now comes from season pass holders. They are not trying to compete with Cedar Point. They just want to make sure passholders will buy a pass again next year. That's why they push passes during Fright Fest. They want those revenues secured.

Cedar Fair has the opposite model. They're season passes are much more expenisive, but one day tickets are a reasonable price. A six flags flash pass at is expensive, but Cedar Fair's fast lane is cheap.

I can guaruntee you that Six Flags does not care about a few schools that decide to go to CP over Great America. It's such a small piece of their revenue. What they do care about is getting more pass holders. And no potential pass holders have the option of going to Cedar Point instead.

I'm definitely not getting a season pass for next year. (Not because of the new rides, just because I don't like the catering to the season pass people that leads to ridiculous lines)

I find it strange that Sally Corp people have already been at the park. We have the picture from that meeting at JB'S which was 2 weeks ago now I think. If they were installing the same ride, why would there be so many planning meetings. I would think those should have happened by now and they wouldn't show up until the building was up and ready for installation. Maybe we are getting a upgraded Justice League ride that will be more like the Universal rides!? Here's hopin'

With the announcement of the frisbee going, I'm just lost. Unless we have the world's only dueling frisbees.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

Yeah I agree. I'll still get a pass, but not a food pass. Everyone has one and food lines are stupid long now. I'll just walk across the street

I'm just going to ask this question but wouldn't a Larson Loop fit into the old Trail Blazer spot?

Third, and probably final teaser. Shows Southwest Ampitheater is pretty much gone.

I'm going to guess the 4D S&S coaster after this latest teaser. We rode it at Fiesta Texas and it was awesome!

Watching the woman make a looping motion with her finger, followed by the other woman making a dip motion with her arm like a coaster drop, sure makes it seem like a coaster. "The Joke's on You" also might mean they have just been using the JL characters as a red herring and it will be a Joker-themed coaster. Just my opinion.

I rode it as well and was injured and taken to first aid. The back of my ankle was sliced open from it hitting the frame of the seat in my 1st spin. I was bleeding everywhere. The ride ops kinda freaked out although it wasn't really a bad cut but more like a small slice. It stopped bleeding by the time I got to first aid. I actually did not like the ride, not because of this but because it's too much spinning and you can never get your balance to actually enjoy the ride. I'd rather prefer something with lots of airtime then this.
