So SFOG is doing a similar teaser campaign, with the hashtag #SFOGSuperHero16.

Coincidence? I think not.

SFGAm and SFOG are definitely the next two up for getting Justice League dark rides.

At this point I think it's pretty clear that we're getting the dark ride.

on Screamscape they suggested that we might get a Dark Ride and a Larson Loop. That would be awesome in my opinion. That Ragin Cajun plot is perfect for a Larson loop, especially since the existing line is not that long. I can't see them putting a Major ride in that location, but something on par with King Chaos would make alot of sense.

Can you actually link to this information? I'm still relatively new, and I continually see people state things that they've seen on screamscape, only to never actually find them.

THANKS!

Screamscape seemed to be completely speculating, not basing his notion on any sources, so I would not put much weight in it. It's possible, but we'll find out soon enough.

sucks

What would suck about that? It's not a giant coaster, but it's a pretty good mid-level expansion. (That's IF that's what's happening, and like was just pointed out that very possibly is not happening).

What sucks is all the "kids" on here who expect huge ride year after year and are disappointed when the park adds a flat ride, kiddie rides or shows. I welcome the smaller stuff that will bring in family's who spend money and make it possible for the big rides to eventually come. Bring on that Larson Loop and Justice League! I just hope if it is a loop in Ragin Cajun's spot it's Mardi Gras themed and not a superhero!

I agree. Justice League dark ride in SWAT for sure and maybe a Larson Super Loop called Bourbon Street Fireball in RC's spot.

Just a head's up, my school bus route goes down Washington, right next to the park(yes. I go to Warren Township High School), and I can confirm that SWAT is essentially gone. Just a singular wall(or walls) are left.

I should have clarified. These are great additions from a management standpoint. A dark ride and the carnival-rollercoaster-flatride fill existing holes in the overall (park) product. I would be psyched for these additions if I were a paid member of the park's management, or if I'm playing Roller Coaster Tycoon and this was a scenario I was working on*. Neither of the two are applicable to me.

The thing is, I don't expect a roller coaster next year, or the year after, and maybe not even the two years after that. No sweat- that certainly won't stop me from going out to the park. Neither will my non-existent level of excitement for additions like this, or (especially) water park crap. I absolutely realize that in order for the park to add the roller coaster or thrill ride every so often, these types of additions are a necessary evil; but again, I am not a member of the park's management, nor am I playing a scenario in roller coaster tycoon. I've only ever gone to a park to ride the roller coasters and thrill rides; I don't care how they get there. Theming, overly-enthusiastic ride-ops that think they're funny and come up with stupid rhymes as they dispatch a train, diverse collections of family/kiddie rides...talk to me again when I have kids.
When I take a plane to get somewhere, I pay to arrive at my location safely, and in a timely manner. It's up to the flight crew to worry how they go about doing that. My job is to sit in my seat until I arrive while they do the job they're paid to do.

This is a new philosophy for me. I'm tentatively adopting it after roughly 10 years of working in retail (banking) and losing faith in people. I realize at a glance, it's an absurd, jaded way of looking at things, but customers never care about what you have to do in order for them to get what they want, as long as in the end they get what they want. It seems to be an acceptable way of everyday life for an alarming chunk of society.

* Enthusiasts/Coaster people appear overly eager to don their "business perspective/rct manager" hat when it comes to coaster message boards. I liken it to baseball fans that feel obligated to pepper any discussion regarding the game with SABR. Cool, you spent a few hours dicking around on baseball prospectus, and own a copy of Moneyball somewhere- can you please explain to me once more why I should be excited to watch Ben Zobrist pad his ridiculous OBP via walks/hbp/infield singles, and a gritty style of play, again?

Main idea here is that the park has to do what it needs to draw the most people each season. It is unrealistic for Six Flags to build a new coaster every single year, but it is realistic to introduce other less costly rides to beef up parts of the park that would draw in the meantime. The aforementioned kids areas, flat rides for the guests who aren't into dizzying coaster heights... I get all that.
GAm pulls heavily from Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana for repeat visitors and season pass holders. I know others have said GAm really has no competition, but they do! One CF park in Michigan (which isn't anything spectacular.. Unless you want the family park aspect with less thrill rides) or the roller coaster capital of the U.S. In Ohio.
Growing up in Indiana, we always bussed over to Cedar Point as opposed to Six Flags for our high school trips. CP is absolutely competition.. And most people go there for the thrill rides- they know it, too and cater to the crowds.
Last year they did a pretty neat revamp of a coaster, and their to be announced Dive coaster will be the first in the Midwest coming in 2016. That's what GAm is up against this year.
So whatever they are focusing on with their next ride task, I just hope they are looking at the big picture. I don't want to see a drop in revenue for our home park- I enjoy it there!
Pardon me of my marketing analysis background shines through. I did many years of it and am used to analyzing potential market threats ;)
