New ride for 2016

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I thoroughly enjoyed Justice League. In fact I'll be riding it again next week. This would be a great addition to our park. They've had the same issues that Spiderman and Transformers at Universal had when they first opened. At least it doesn't feel like it

I'm still sticking with the every other year coaster theory. They come in threes, and we're only at two.

Agree B&M launch coaster. If were lucky two new attractions or a whole new themed area for next year.

B&M? We'll be lucky if we get a Sky Rocket II. Let alone a launched coaster.

Well we should be expecting something themed to the southwest, if the amphitheater is to be removed or renovated.

Maybe we're getting a Sally Corp dark ride themed to a haunted/forbidden gold mine or something.

I would be very surprised if we got a dark ride that wasn't the Justice League ride - they already have it created, it seems popular, I can't imagine they'd want to spend extra time/money to make something new. As for the theming, that's the very edge of Southwest Territory so they could pretty easily reclassify it was County Fair (or they could just be Six Flags and not really care - does Batman fit in Yankee Harbor? Superman in Orleans Place?)

As much as I'd love to see something like this, we are talking about a six flags park so chances are... they'll make it some inconsistent theme

My only concern is that rides like this typically are for families and anyone 20+ won't be wasting their time on it after the initial "must-see" rush is over. Don't rides like this get stale after a while? Or, am I simply not seeing the bigger picture?

Even if that is the case, families like rides too (I'm part of one, I should know). Like, I'm sure most of you didn't really care about the three new rides this year, but they're GREAT for my four-year-old, it gives us something she can do on that side of the park while her sister goes on Whizzer and Demon and Orbit. So, even if after a year teenager and adult thrillseekers don't go on a dark ride anymore, there's still a large group of families that would love a ride they could all go on together.

Well, location and the relation to the family coaster enthusiast. My 4 year old brother practically worships me, and he's extremely anxious to ride Goliath and American Eagle, is constantly checking his height(he's like 46 inches with shoes). Coincidence? I think not.

It was the illumunati.

Well Six Flags runs on a franchise model. One year they will typically test a new attraction/program/show in one or two parks and if it works out they will integrate them into all their other parks.
Some examples of a successful test: Rocky Mountain Coasters, Vekoma Boomerangs, Flash Pass, Season Dining Pass, Hurricane Harbor, Fright Fest, drop slides, water shooting ride (Buccaneer Battle, Aqua Twist)
A couple un-successful: igNight, Wing Coasters.
Anyway, the two Justice League rides were tested this year. It seems like it's getting a good response, so they will probably integreate them into a couple more parks. There's a decent chance we'll get a Justice League ride or something like it. Six Flags will sometimes do clones (Batman the RIde), but other times they will re-theme and just keep the same style ride (Rocky Mountain Coasters, B&M Hypers).
Great America has been a popular park for Six Flags to test at. Examples: the food pass, the first Batman the Ride, the first stand up coaster, the first wing rider, the first rocky mountain coaster in the six flags chain (I think?). So we might be getting something completely new!
Otherwise some possible integrations we could be getting: sky screamer, dark ride, larson loop, all-season haunted house, S&s free spin.
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."

Iron Wolf wasn't the first Stand-Up coaster to be built at a Six Flags park, rather the first B&M Stand-Up.

^ And NTG was the first RMC. Goliath was Six Flags' first(and only) RMC Woodie.

Another thing is that Six Flags doesn't integrate ALL rides to ALL parks, to keep variety. Thus, why we don't have a SkyScreamer, why some parks don't have a(proper) BTR, and why only some parks have a waterpark.

My 5 yr old son is about 45" inches tall, and we're debating going. He seemed very curious after I showed him POV videos of Demon and some other coasters.

^He should be fine. If you're nervous, you can hold his leg during the ride. Otherwise, he should be ok.

Ahhh yes I got a few wrong haha. That's a good point. But in general I think they work towards having all their parks the same.

So we have our first tease...

https://twitter.com/SFGreat_America/sta ... 3812162560

And it's pretty clearly comic book themed, which I think probably confirms the Justice League rumors...

The S is capitalized though. S is at the end of Movies, but the Justice League doesn't have a modern movie so that confirms a SkyScreamer

I would tend to agree with you in that this tease likely points to a Justice League dark ride, however, I wouldn't entirely be surprised if it's a 4D coaster themed to superhero's.

Unfortunately, if this is a superhero themed ride in Southwest Territory, I would be disappointed at the placement or theming of the ride. I know it's been talked about before on this forum, but count me in the crowd that is getting annoyed at the management for completely ignoring the themed areas. What's the point of a THEME park if you don't follow your themes.
