New ride for 2016

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Once again, this might actually be true, as reported by Screamscape. http://www.screamscape.com/html/industr ... m#SixFlags

I think a Zamperla Giant Air Race would be really cool.

Fiesta Texas appears to maybe be hinting at one, so that wouldn't shock me.

We're all hyping this up way too much though. The teasers are fun, but most of the "teases" end up not meaning anything at all...

The teaser themes could help us determine the ride's theme. Goliath's teasers used rocks, and rocks kind of hint at ancient times(ala David and Goliath). Choose your Path was generic, and was around the park. 40 Seasons is a generic, whole-park thing. The teasers could mean something.

Well, yes, some of the things sort of seem somewhat meaningful after the fact if you're really stretching. But there usually a lot more things that are just misleading and even in retrospect don't make tons of sense.

Does anyone know exactly what Condor's issue is? I hope they pull an Orbit and open by fright fest.

Maybe the first teaser is today. After all, last year's first was on Monday August 11th. If no teaser this week we can assume nothing big I guess

I still wouldn't assume there was any connection. They tease small things, after all. It's always possible that one year (maybe this year) they'll decide not to bother (lots of parks don't bother) or to just do something a few days before.

I do think we'll get some sort of tease soon, though.

Did either SFOT or SFSL do any sort of teasers for their Justice League dark rides? Because if neither of them did, it'll make sense if SFGAm would do the same if we were to get one.

If I recall, they both did some sort of in-park teasers. But I think it's much more based on what the park decides to do than what the ride is. At least for the past few years, we've done it for everything (even very minor additions), while other Six Flags parks have done less (or nothing) for bigger rides.

I sent the park a tweet asking them if we are getting teasers this year and their only response was to like my tweet....

Looks like we may have the location of 2016. There is activity in the Southwest Ampitheater.

Debris I don't remember being in the seats

Part of the area above the booth has been removed

Equipment at the Ampitheater. There is a hole in the ground behind the black pickup truck.

Wait. Top Secret. Confidential. Southwest Amphitheater.

What if they just bring back Operation Spygirl? :(

Haha, no.

Let the speculation begin

I leaked to photos to TPR if that's ok. (With Credit to both of you)

I'll take them down if you want

Also, ever since I did we have 12 guests and a total of 19 people for the first time in such a long time :o

Six Flags Great America posted a new video on YouTube today... but, it had nothing to do with a teaser. I am heading to the park on Saturday, and will ask all the staff. Last year, when I asked staff, they had some idea.

Shockwave closed 13 years ago today. Maybe the new ride will be a 13 inversion Looper in SAT's spot.

That's a genetic message that seems to be showing on a lot (possibly all) Six Flags sites, so don't read anything into it as hinting at what our new attraction will be.

Ok people this kinda makes sense about activity in the Southwest Amphitheater. 2 years before X-Flught went in there was survey work being done on the site. 2 years before Goliath went in there was survey work being done on the site. 2 years ago at this time is when the survey work was being done around Eagle and Southwest Amphitheater. So my guess is whatever is new for 2016 is going into that spot. We shall see.....

it is about time! Every time I pass by it and see it empty and a ghost town I wonder why nothing has been done to make it usable.

I can guarantee you that the staff doesn't know. The only staff that might know are the full time managers (Silver tags), but most of them probably don't even know unless they are somehow involved with it.

Don't they have the Street Fighter V preview thing in the SWA? I thought I saw something that had that as ground zero for that event...

^ That is in front of the theater. Whatever is going on in Southwest Ampitheater looks like it is going to be major. They're preparing it for demolition, stripping out electrical, speakers, etc. Anything with any value or potential for reuse is being removed.
