No mirrors in bathrooms

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

This is something I always wanted to ask. Never did I see it mentioned on here all these years or maybe I missed it/forgot about it. I was at the park 7/3 and this once again peaked my interest. I honestly do not see the point. You are not able to even check if you have something on your face.

I got over it quickly I bring in my own I got it at the Dollar Tree (everything's a dollar) I use it mainly to see if I am getting red (extremely prone to sunburn even with sunscreen). Yeah it is basically a compact but is skin cancer worth the risk of what people think?

Never thought about it, but I can see why the park wouldn't want to bother. Another thing that needs to be cleaned/maintained...

Something else to mention regarding the bathrooms, they might be replacing the dryers with Dyson Air Blade V's. They put some in the bathrooms at the HTS-SWT Bridge/conversion.

I was at Magic Kingdom a few days ago and the bathrooms, at least the ones I used, only had one small mirror when you walked in but none above the sinks. So I guess lack of mirrors isn't just a Six Flags thing.

If mirrors are vandal magnets, they'd might as well remove the dividers between the toilets while they're at it.

you can paint over graffiti on stall walls, you can repair parts of the stalls, it's much harder to deal with a scratched or broken mirror.

Never mind the very notion of removing stall's is asinine for a bunch of reasons starting with legal concerns. No lawyer in history as it relates to public restrooms ever said you need a mirror.

It's a Six Flags thing. I'm just back from both Texas parks and they didn't have them either. In fact at Over Texas every bathroom I went into something was broken and it was so messy I felt like I was in a outhouse in some. Fiesta Texas was better but I really understand now why our park claims cleanest in the world.....

Being the cleanest Six Flags Park is equivalent to being the worlds best smelling bowl on excrement.

Yeah I think Indiana Beach might have been cleaner than GAm at one point, but that just might be me.

It could easily be argued that the smaller parks are the cleanest. My main examples would be SFStL and SFFT.

For a park that prides itself on growing their own flowers and doing their own landscaping, many areas seriously lack that attention from the green team.

Everyone should have the ability to go to the bathroom & be able to put on makeup (touch up), see if you need to wipe something off your face, or even fix your hair. This is ridiculous. Makes the park look cheap and tacky by putting ads where mirrors go.

I don't disagree, but it would also look bad with shattered mirrors and having them tagged up.

If random gas stations, arenas, stadiums, public bathrooms, etc. can keep up, I think Six Flags Great America would have no problem doing the same. With so many guests any given time, I hardly think anyone would bother vandalizing the mirrors.

Most gas stations I go to have non family friendly graffiti scratched into the mirrors.

^ Even if someone was stupid enough to graffiti the mirrors with so many people around, it would still make the park look better because after the sink the mirror is the second most important restroom item(obviously not including the toilet).

Because yes, parents like to have to explain to their child in a public restroom what the N word means, or how the F word is just a town in Australia and not to worry about it.

Way way back in the day, my first job was at a fast food outlet, and this is in the wealthy far western suburbs, not some inner city place, but it was a weekly occurrence that someone would scratch something into the mirror, either swear words, gang symbols or some sort of body part, and being family friendly we were replacing mirrors in both bathrooms on approx a bi-weekly basis. finally we got a new store manager, after a month of that he proclaimed that people are animals and don't need mirrors, and we never had a problem again.

Grafitti wipes off any other surface in the bathroom in seconds with the proper cleaner, regardless what they use to write it with.

Lastly, said by nobody ever in the history of man "Great America has no mirrors in the bathrooms, I'm never going there again/going to go there"

wow, ok, and what are the chances of finding graffiti in the stalls vs. the mirror?

you should read closer here's the cliff notes

1. people are animals and don't need mirrors

2. Graffiti scratched into a mirror is permanent

3. Any other part of a bathroom(including your precious stall), graffiti is removed in seconds with the proper cleaner. If you see something in a stall or elsewhere, inform an employee and it will be gone quickly.

4. Apparently nobody but you is demanding mirrors, I'd recommend going back to your car and using the 4-5 mirrors there if you need to. Or if you have no car, well bring a mirror, they sell pocket sized ones in the woman's section of stores (cosmetics). Maybe you can stand outside the bathrooms and rent out your mirror for $$ to satisfy the overwhelming demand.
