I wouldn't necessarily call it testing just yet, but it's definitely a sign of life in the park. Testing normally coincides with employee training weekends which will be next week and the week after. The 1st operating day will be the 25th.

This picture looks like it was taken in the fall, but maybe I am wrong. They haven't started working on the Kiddie Ride area yet, and if it is current, this picture is at least more than a week old since you cant see the white spots on Batman.
I doubt that was taken in the fall. Great America wouldn't have started a mere kiddie area that early. Also, it makes no sense that they would start painting a ride before the winter and then resume afterwards because the winter would do wear and tear on the primer. When Raging Bull was painted in '07 - '08 it wasn't complete by the time I went on Advocate Day in 2008 and I have no idea if it was done by opening day.
Keep in mind Goliath and X-Flight were still flattened land when the park closed and if this was taken in the fall, it would have been right after closing day. At that time, the Fright Fest signs would still be up and so would the ad by Southwest territory.....which neither are present.

.......and if anyone is curious here's how Raging Bull looked on Advocate Day 2008. This was April 19th, exactly one week before Opening Day. You should expect similar results for Batman.

^^ Not sure how double rides = RMC conversion. Probably has more to do with AE having decent capacity and usually having short waits. It's definitely the coaster that makes the most sense for double rides.
I am a bit confused on double coaster rides. Does everyone have to stay on(no stop in station), or does it stop so some can get on/off? If so, I can see lots of exploitation.
FParker185 wrote:I would assume in the time the train has to sit in the station for dispatch it will be a raise your hand if you want to get off situation
I was hoping they were going to turn off the brakes in the station and just glide through it making it nonstop. Wonder if this is how the Flats will work on double ride days.
Flats are much simpler. Usually, they have a Manual Mode, where you can go up to(I think) 10 cycles. It's usually used for pre/post season testing. I can only assume it'll work like that but with people in it.
Neither of those scenarios are remotely possible. Rides do have manual modes, but they are NEVER used by the operations team. Only maintenance can switch any ride into that mode..... Hence when a ride "gets stuck" you have to wait for the corresponding maintenance team to come and restart the ride.
Another problem with that theory is that not every single rider will want to ride a second time. That should be obvious enough.
some flats if they hit the dispatch buttons as soon as the ride starts to slow down, it can restart, I know Hometown does that. But it wouldn't be hard at all for the park to simply change the program on most of the flats, then for the Huss Flats probably just have to dispatch em twice.

Is SFGAm getting the green souvenir cups that are free refills for the whole season? I havnt seen anything for it personally. It would save me most of the money I spent last year!

I wouldn't rule the RMC idea out. Eagle has long needed a new paint job and I think the reason it hasn't gotten one yet is because we are getting an RMC redo of the coaster. I've heard numerous rumors about it as well.

I'm not saying it's not going happen, I'm just saying I don't understand how double rides is a hint towards a conversion. Same with the paint job, AE hasn't gotten one because it's expensive and would be a really big project to paint the whole thing, and it'd be a big investment with no return.
Not saying RMC Eagle isn't going to happen, but we need actual convincing evidence before saying it is.

I'll ask the same question as before....How does lack of paint = RMC? Superman hasn't been painted, does that mean it's being relocated? No.
