Well another suprise move by Six Flags this year. Six Flags Great America, Kentucky Kingdom, and Marine World are to recieve a Stargate SG 3000 Interactive Simulation Adventure from MGM Studios. Made popular by Space Park Bremen in 2003, Stargate SG 3000 features a four-minute simulation film that lets audiences experience what happens when they soar through the Stargate into different dimensions. The 20-minute overall guest experience includes a themed queuing area, the mission briefing/pre-show and the motion simulator theater.
I like the sound of that! So does this mean the end to the shuttle sitting out side when you exit? cause I like the shuttle but if it must go to get us a sim ride that isn't as boring as the one we have now then it's cool.
I can't wait to ride this, I think this will be very cool.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
So does this mean that they are going to be tearing down that Space craft they have outside the building? Because i can remember that being there ever since the firs time i went to Sfgam.....It'll be a little wierd not seeing it there this summer... Yet this new attraction seems to be alot better!
Papas, Do you mean it literally that the Program will be in the Space Shuttle or do you mean the Space Shuttle will not be going anywhere because the Stargate 3000 Movie takes place in a space shuttle?
If anyone has seen Stargate, you know that you do not go into a space shuttle in order to be transported into a different world. So therefore I would not be suprized if the Space Shuttle was removed.
We would not need it, its just a decoration. You do not view the movie inside the space shuttle, you view it in the theatre
When they replaced Space Shuttle America with Dino Island 3d originally they didn't remove the Space Shuttle. So I doubt they will remove it for this one either.
I would assume that SFGAM wont get rid of the Space Shuttle as they didnt do so for Dino Island.
But, judos for SFGAM in adding a new film in this attraction. I havent seen the tv show but really like the film Stargate so im hopeful this will be a good attraction. Dino ISland long ago out lived its usefulness and the sam goes for the lame Space Shuttle America film. Maybe now you may actually have to wait for this attraction.
If I remember correctly, they did remove some of theming inside the queue for Dino Island. I think they had some dinosaur stuff where the computers are located now. I might be wrong though.
Yea, the theme consisted of posters that were posted on the windows by the computers. That’s it. Now according the press release the entire query is being redone. And from what I have seen there are at least 4 dumpsters sitting right next to SSA.
As, for the Space Shuttle that parked outside, they have not removed it yet so I doubt it is going to be removed. I do not know what the motion simulator ride movie will exactly be like, but I don’t think we would be in a space shuttle in the movie. (I don’t mean the space shuttle parked outside)
sg1 walks through a big stone circle. in the center is what appears to be water, but its the event horizon of a wormhole. they travel almost instantaniously to any other place with a stargate. the destination depends on a code that is entered into the device before the wormhole is established. it has nothing to do with a space shuttle, though the air force runs the program and I think a shuttle rescued them once.
if you want to see the show, its on sci-fi nearly all the time and I think fox plays re-runs in chicago.
I never rode dino island, but I have to assume that didn't have much to do with a space shuttle. I doubt we'll see that shuttle go anytime soon. call it a gut feeling if you want, but that's what I think.
Actually they did incorporate the space shuttle into Dino Island. Only it wasn't called a space shuttle, it had a special name. Does anyone remember what the vehicle was called?
I loved Dino Island; personally I thought it was a lot of fun. Hopefully this new one will be just as fun.
They left some of the computers because it was supposed to be a reasearch center. (Glen Research center to be exact). But some of it was replaced by weird technacal dinosaur stuff.
Wow, its about time! I was really hoping that the SSA simulation would change or be replaced because like many of you on here, I thought it was getting rather...old.
I think it will be a fun new addition, and that it will add on to what looks like an already great season.
A space shuttle type of vehicle, moving through the Stargate...Would that fit?????
I'm really not sure how they're going to explain how citizens made it into a top secret facility and assigned to rescue an SG team, but I'd be willing to bet that the audience will be strapped to the top of a MALP in the storyline.
