As of yesterday, the park started selling or at least testing the idea of single use flash passes. Raging Bull, X Flight, and Superman have signs like this:
So if you go to the link, like rideragingbullnow.com, you can buy a one time Flash Pass for up to 6 people. Each person costs $20, which is a lot for one ride, but should keep this from affecting the regular line. You also have to pick a time by the hour on the site, so I'm not sure if you can really just walk up, pay, and get in line. Thoughts?
I like it. There's probably gonna be a couple times where the lines are crazy long and I just wanna get on a couple rides and go, so I'll use it. I don't think it'll be a huge success, but I hope they keep it.
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."
Good idea for out of towners, personally I'm going to stick with my strategy of not going when it's crowded, and if I show up and it's busy, go home or elsewhere

Lower the price and everyone does it, would wreck the standby line, if anything it should be a little higher as it's pretty pretty clear from the sign that the main intent to to move flash passes.

I am personally for this idea. As more parks in the Cedar Fair and Six Flags chain start offering these services, it has made going to parks a hassle. What used to be a 20 min line is now a slow moving 45 min line. The latest trend of adding unnecessary seat belts also has not helped. At Canadas Wonderland, a lot of the coasters had a 60/40 ratio of standby/Fastlane.
If a park doubles the price of the Flashpass, I am willing to bet that at least half of Flashpass users will still buy the Flashpass. At a higher rate the park will still make the same amount of money, and will piss off less people in the standby lines.
If the new Flashpass system becomes one time use, it will encourage people to try it out on one or two rides, instead of just going to any ride they want all day. The Flashpass really isn't there to "enhance the park experience" for a small number of guests, it is there to make money. If they found a way to still earn that extra income that in the end will make the experience better for everyone else, then I will be happy to see this take off.
I don't understand why anybody would pay for this. Am I the only one that figures you may as well at least pay for a regular flashpass at this point. $20 for one ride, $55 for a return time equal to the normal and still don't have to stand in line throughout the whole day. Decisions
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)

People buy regular admission tickets (at the gate) at 9pm to enter Fright Fest. I am sure that there are people out there who would pay for this.
A lot of people, especially those from the Chicago area, will purchase anything that will make them feel superior to the "pedestrian" park guests. They could sell another FlashPass (like "saphire"), or something that was double the price, and people will buy it because if makes them feel more exclusive.
^ The people who come in late for FF would actually be a good market for this too. It wouldn't make any sense to buy a flash pass for the last few hours of the night, but this could be an option to ensure a ride or two spending the whole night in one line.
Get rid of the stinking stupid $25 no good for nothing parking fee and I'm in.
