Just because they can be kept locked by holding in the button doesn't necessarily mean they would be allowed to do that, with the safety people and others like them being involved. Who knows what kind of crazy concerns they might come up with...

Here's a crazy idea... Maybe when they re-do HT and CP they'll clear the trees around the rear side of the train station, build up a platform, and do some kind of welcome show on the train like at Disney... I'm thinking this would most likely be that Spirit of Great America show that they did once in a while this year. Never got to see it but I know there;s a video somewhere... This could be an awesome way to entertain guests before the park opens on a very high stage. Plus that show kind of emulates everything that they;re aiming for next season. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Royale being restored either this year or next for a furry character show and one of the littler shows (like the 90's show last year) being added to that small stage in mardi gras land.

^ If Theatre Royale was coming back in 2015, that would have been in the announcement. That would be a big project.

Is the Ig-night stage coming down as well since the gazebo is returning?

I just watched the videos again - anybody else find it kinda odd that on both of them, the image on the screen when they first mention the three kiddie rides is the Buzzy Bees, which ISN'T one of the three rides? I mean, whatever, I don't think anybody is going to complain too much about which kiddie rides (it's not like it was Sky Whirl or Deja Vu), I'm just confused by it.

2016 will probably see a big DC comics push in the parks with the Superman vs Batman movie coming out that March.

I don't quite get the connection the parks have to Warner Bros anymore - the ownership is different, so I don't get why they would care about promoting the movies at all, but they obviously still build rides like The Dark Knight Coaster and Green Lantern, so they must get something out of it. In any case, they are going to start making two DC movies every year starting in 2016, so if the parks take that into account we might see a LOT of DC based rides.

after reading the press release, and watching the video and reading newspaper prints..... do we think we will see the return of "Willard's' Wizzer" or will it stay Wizzer?

I did see something about commemorative themed costumes for the employees, actual themed costumes, or just a special logo embroidered into the shirt?

I went to my local fair today and some how those mega loopers that the 4 other parks are getting were there. Amid my confusion, I decided to ride it to see how thrilling these "coasters" were going to be... Worst "coasters" ever.

^ For what it's worth, I have heard that the permanent park models run better than the portable fair ones.

And given that Marvel is owned by Disney, I think that would be a great way for DC to get their brand out to the public... But I don't want to derail this into a comic book nerd discussion, so I'll just leave this as is

If Whizzer get's a repaint, I wonder if it will remain the same color or if they will switch it up, and make it more of a brighter green.

I hope not. I like how the track blends in with trees.

I just hope they do all of what they say they're going do. Anyone hoping that they do even more, doing stuff they haven't announced yet...I honestly wouldn't count on it, though it would be a nice surprise. I doubt they were given a huge budget for next year, though.

On another note, if they're going to continue to use a split second of my family's home video footage from the park for their promotional purposes (from a video I gave PR years ago), I want residuals! ;)

While calling these Super Loops coasters is beyond ridiculous, I don't see a problem with them being installed in the parks. It is another flat ride just like a Tilt A Whirl that carnivals use. Most flat rides in parks are also used on the Carny scene.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

To be honest, over the next few years, I wouldn't mind it at all if they added smaller attractions that would still draw a crow (Super Loop, Sky Screamer, etc) and in those years repaint rides, and fix the park up. Great America has a very finite amount of room left for new coasters.

That's kind of exactly what I hope to happen. They're specifically "refreshing" two sections this year, and there wasn't any indication that they would do other sections in the future, but ideally (to me) the next few years we'd get some more mid-level attractions (like a SkyScreamer or Super Loop or Dark Ride) and they'd "refresh" another area or two every year.

I would be more than happy with that! Great America is very land locked, but it's in a good position because it has no nearby competition and has an awesome variety of rides. Adding a few mid-sized rides over the next few years, while greatly beautifying the park would really help it out in the long run in my opinion. The image of the park means alot.

Oh, there's nothing wrong with the rides. There is something wrong with the marketing of them.

Especially when you consider that, at least off the top of my head, each section of the park can handle another flat or two. Refresh a section of the park and put a new flat there in the same offseason. An approach like that really takes this park up another notch, in my mind... not another thrill ride.

I love how the park has received two world class thrill rides the last three years. They've given this park one of the best coaster portfolios in the nation. Cleaning up the park and adding small things here and there? I'd be over the moon.

That. Is. Genius.

And looking at the map, I guess what Coastermonkey61 said could work. Each section can fit another flat or two, or even a compact family coaster. Like maybe a Gerstlauer Spinning Coaster in RC's spot? So many possibilities...
