I know it's a long ways off, but I didn't get to go to Fright Fest last year because of my work schedule. I should be able to get there this year as I took some time off, but was wondering when it started? Does it begin the last weekend of September, or the first weekend of October? I'm guessing based on the operating schedule it's September, but just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure.
Thanks and I can't wait to get back to the park this year--I missed it in 2013.
Fright Fest this year begins September 27th and ends November 2nd (even though the calendar still says November 1st).

That sounds like it would be pretty incredible, luckily they didn't shut it down!
I might only have one Saturday off to go to Fright Fest this year, so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate! A little rain's okay, but nothing that will shut anything down, please.
I love fright fest when there's just a little drizzle of rain, cloudy sky, and cold air with a sharp breeze. Nothing sets the mood for fright fest like the weather.
"Everyone, listen to me! These jerks killed Superboy. They've tried to kill us. Now they say they're going to tear this city apart. I say... like hell."
In my three years of attending. (eight times total.) It has rained during each visit, some longer than others. I have always been in the station of a given coaster and is pretty fun to wait it out. On Viper, this awesome employee, Liam started doing SFGAm trivia and once in Batman, the employees started a sing along. It's amazing how fast the park empties out during a rain storm lasting more than an hour.
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)
Warmer in the day is great but a small chill at night no more than 5-10 degrees drop is perfect. But they really need to bring back all of the fog machines that really sets the mood. I don't know from year to year they have a good FF then go down hill a little then go back up. At least with JPM it was consistent albeit to much money.
I completely agree with you, VIper. Although I don't know what JPM is haha. Fright Fest definitely has gone down hill. Especially this year, I feel like they really half-@$$ed it. It's such a small thing, but I think the music they play makes all the difference, and last year they continued to play pop music throughout the night with zero halloween theme. They also had the games blaring their music and sound effects, even though characters were out trying to scare people. It really took away from the entire atmosphere for me. The one redeeming quality for me was the Bermuda Triangle. The Haunted Houses weren't the greatest, but me and a few friends went back at night and were swarmed by the characters. The place was nearly empty and pitch dark, it was perfect. Hopefully Hank can turn this decline around.

^ I definitely agree with you on the music, but I don't think the event on the decline. I can't compared to JPM days since I've only gone since 2010, but I think every year has been better than the last. Especially this year with three new scare zones, two new haunts and more street actors, I don't think it was half-assed at all.
I don't know if I should start a new post or use this one for FF 2014. I am going to use this post. There is 144 days until the first day of FF. Yes it is still some time off but I love that time off the year, that's why I keep a count down for FF.
Won't matter for me I won't be going the rest of summer, FF 2014, or summer 2015. To top that little ditty no vaca's are on the horizon, no trips anywhere. At this point I'm kind of numb to everything be it good or bad.
