Viper Train was Smoking

When I went to Great America a few days ago, I got on Viper's Front row after a wait that seemed like forever. But when I started putting my seat belt on, I started to smell something burning, the ride ops informed us to leave the train, because the second car had smoke coming from it. Any ideas of what happened? The ride ops nor the guests had any idea of what was going on. It was very odd.
2 possibilities, guest dropped a lit cigarette in the car, or a seized and overheated bearing. If I was a betting man I'd go with the first option.

I'm gonna actually go with the second one because it smelled like burning oil. But the first one seems reasonable. Thanks man
