Season Pass 2014 Question

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby ale2011 on July 10th, 2014, 1:33 pm
I have a situation and I need your help.

When I was living in NJ, I bought a season pass online via the Six Flags Great Adventure website. I paid for it, printed out the voucher but never had a chance to go to Six Flags to process the voucher and get my Season Pass card/ID.

Now that I just moved to Chicago, can I use my printed voucher and get the Season Pass card at the SF Great America?

Reason that I asked is because on the voucher, the instructions say the following:

"You must show a photo ID matching the name on voucher (except young children)

Season Pass provides unlimited visits to Six Flags Great Adventure or Six Flags, Hurricane Harbor NJ. After processing at Six Flags Great Adventure or Six Flags Hurricane Harbor NJ, your ID can be used at other Six Flags Theme Parks.

In-park discounts and free admission f or friends (on select day s) will be available on your first visit in 2014."

I don't know if they would be able to scan my voucher (which I got from SF Great Adventure), process it, and give me a Season Pass card at SF Great America
Thanks.

I think that calling Six Flags corporate headquarters or customer service is where you'll find your answers.

Would you really take someone at their word on a forum? Why chance it? Just wasting time and effort.

Just call or e-mail them, and please get back to us on what happened so that others can benefit form the knowledge.

According to their rules, they will not be able to scan your voucher. Prices of season passes vary from park to park. I was going to try this, because SFSTL had a cheaper price. However, I'm sure if you call customer service some kind of switch can be made.

So I had no luck calling any of the customer service. They either didn't pick the phone or just transferred me to another number. I just gave up calling and went to SixFlags Great America .

Got to the entrance, showed them my unprocessed voucher. They told me to go to the season pass office to get my voucher processed. So I went there, showed them my voucher, they scanned it, wrote my name on the card, and said next time when I visit, they'll take my finger scan at the game.

I was surprised that they didn't check ID or read the voucher at all.. I guess lucky me.

Hahaha awesome. Thanks for the update; I'll have to keep this in mind for next year.

I think the one word difference between SFGAm and SFGAd played into this. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the employees didn't know the difference, know that there is another SF, or just assumed that the voucher was messed up with it saying SFGAd everywhere.

It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle :?
Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? :P

haha I would think so too. Also the text font size is really small at where it says SFGAd on the voucher maybe they just glanced through and missed it. :D I'm one happy camper

I really don't think the workers could care less what it says on the voucher. If it scans and says you get to enter, they let you in. When you go to processing it is the same thing, if it scans and lets them processes the pass they will.

I wonder after the upgrade, if the new ticking system is not setup to tell the difference between parks. So another words you could have a ticket from a different Six Flags park and it will still scan and let you in.

Sorry to hear about the lack of customer service when you call, but that's great that everything worked out in the end!

If you had been able to get a customer service person, I think they would have told you to go to guest relations and they can make a 1 visit exception for you. A lot of people here have done it before since SFStL opens earlier than SFGAm, and they have a yet unprocessed SFGAm pass when they go to SFStL. I understand that your situation is a little different though. Interesting to know that there is no check in the computer system to catch this though. I would have thought the codes would have only been allowed to scan at the park you purchased the pass for, and not any park.

Could anybody tell me if you get early entry to the dry park with a Gold Season Pass? Maybe like 10:00 instead of the official opening at 10:30? I am going in two weeks.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, no. They have been opening the gates to everyone around 10 to queue for Goliath, but the rides do not open until near 10:30 as usual.

No, I agree with ilrider.

Suggestions: Arrive the park earlier like 9:30-945am. Go left to Orleans Place when the gate opens and go straight to Goliath for the line.

Do not go right to Hometown Square because they make a queue line that prevents people in County Fair from cutting in the line for Goliath.

That's what I saw that happened last month.

^ I've been there the last two Fridays and you are correct. You want to get there well before 10 am, the parking lot opens at 9:30, so try to get to the park then. When the gates open at 10, head directly to the left towards Superman and run/walk to Goliath. You can run pretty much run the entire way there, but once you get over the bridge right by Goliath's entrance, you will get yelled at to walk. If you can run the entire way you should be able to get on the first or second train of the day.
