I'm thinking about going to opening day, and want some advice. First off, is it worth it? The wait, the crowd? Please tell me your tips/advice. Thanks!

If you have a pass and don't have anything better to do and don't mind just getting on a few rides, sure, go. But don't go if you're expecting a empty day with short, fast lines.

I wouldn't base your decision off of a poll because everyone has different expectations for their day at the park.

If you're one of those people who are only happy if they can get a ton of rides and run around with the park to themselves - don't go. It's going to be crowded, rides are on reduced capacity, and not every ride is open so lines will be long and slow.

If you're like me though, opening day is worth it because I don't go to ride. I go to hang out with friends, see whats new, and just be happy to step inside the park for the first time in months. I know that I have the whole season to get a lot of rides in so if I don't get to on opening day - that's ok.

So long story short, just decide what you want to get out of it. If it's a lot of rides, then it's probably not worth it. But if you just want to be back in the park, get a few rides in, and don't mind the opening day hiccups, than you should enjoy yourself.

First off I feel it is worth it to get a season pass. It is a good value as long as you go twice and who wouldnt got at least twice? If you dont get a season pass opening day is not worth it. If you have a pass definitely go. Just be there before the gates open to hit your top 2 coasters right at open then plan on flats, shows, and demon the rest of the day. After that all of the coasters expect demon will have crazy long waits. If you have plenty of money you could go for the flash pass. Im always short on cash so I never get the flash pass.

The only thing I like about going to opening day is enjoying the park the first day it's open to the public after a long off-season. I don't go to ride as many rides as possible. I go to enjoy what I've been missing through those cold winter months. Yeah I try to get on what I can, but I like to see what's new and have a great time with friends. Once weekday operations in May start, that is when I start to ride more coasters (due to less crowds).

Thank you all! Considering the amount of votes in the "If You Want To" category, I guess I'll see you on opening day! But some advice would still be nice. This is my first time going on opening day. Thanks again!

This. Plan on doing more walking and gawking than anything - it's still a ball, regardless.
