Walt came up with the idea of Disneyland while visiting Griffith Park with his daughters Diane and Sharon while watching them on the merry-go-round. He envisioned a place where the adults could have fun with their kids and make memories together. Other sources of inspiration include his father's stories of the world's fair in 1893 as well as Tivoli Gardens, Efteling, Greenfield Village, Playland, and Children's Fairyland. The earliest written idea of Disneyland was on August 31 1948 where it was documented as a "Mickey Mouse Park".
