How has pass processing been this late into the season? I didn't buy a 2013 pass but did a 2014 tonight online (the price after two visits pays itself) and will pick it up next Saturday I think. I have my younger cousins going for Fright Fest and I don't want them stuck in line with me forever. Thanks!

We did it last night around 8 and it took no more than 5 minutes. There was a bit of a line earlier, but I'm not sure if you even would have had to wait in it if you'd already bought online like you did.
Anyone else just get the email offering free upgrade from a "regular" season pass to a gold season pass if you process by the 27th? I wonder what happens if I purchased the gold online but I haven't processed it yet...
Galvan316 wrote:If you process by the end of the season, you should get the gold pass provided you have all the information with you.
Also ask the person processing your pass to double check that you have a Gold Pass.
So do you think I should be able to get my gold pass I haven't processed yet refunded to a regular season pass that then upgrades to a gold pass? I really hope they are cool with it because my wallet will love them.
"Buy four or more 2014 Season Passes today and we'll give you a free upgrade to our Gold Pass, which includes free parking on every Pass, unlimited admission, and additional benefits all season long. Now available online for as low as $5.99 a month*! Don't miss this limited time offer! Must process your IDs at the park before October 27"
Ok, I bought my 2014 season pass and here is deal with it:
If you buy 4 or more Regular season passes at 67.99, and process them before the end of Fright Fest, each pass will get upgraded to the Gold Pass, which includes free parking AT EVERY SIX FLAGS PARK! You DO NOT have to process each pass on the same visit. They will give you vouchers for the ones you don't process. The gold pass also includes an extra bring a friend free coupon.
The 2014 passes look lame. It has a orange banner at top that says SIX FLAGS, a FAMILY OF PARKS. The rest is white and has your picture, barcode, pass number and then whether it is the gold or not. Apparently, they are going to start the fingerprint thing next year, and might be working on a way to have the SAME PASS EVERY YEAR so they don't have to keep reprinting new ones. You just keeping renewing the pass.
On the back of the 2014s passes, it says to go to sixflags.com/pass to manage your pass. When I went there, it asked to enter my email and that I will be notify when the eValue Books will be available. They said it should be ready in January (so perhaps it is moving online)
HINT HINT: If the line gets long a pass processing or you forget, you can buy and process your pass at Guest Relations at the end of the day...but don't spread that around to too many people!!!!

You have to PROCESS the pass in order to receive the Gold upgrade!

No, I think there's almost no chance that they let you do that. Sorry.
From the park's Twitter, "If you have not already processed your 2014 Season Pass you can be one of the first to use our new bio metric processing beginning tonight!" Sounds pretty exciting!
^ Interesting. How do they plan on rolling this system out to those of us who have already processed. Would have made a lot more sense to have the system ready 2 months ago. I mean they've had the new ticket scanners at the gate for 2 seasons now.
I just got my season pass tonight. Half my group got there's at the front gate and half didn't. We went to pass processing and they no longer take pics or print your name on the pass (you sign it instead). Also, they don't do finger prints at pass processing, they do it on your next visit. Also, my gold pass looks just like a regular pass and doesn't even say "parking" on it. Extremely disappointed with all of it. Anyone could use it if I lose it because its not even connected to my finger print until next visit.

All gold passes look like regular passes this year, and none of them say parking. As for what will happen if you lose it? Just don't lose it before the next time you visit. Doesn't seem like that much of them to ask of you.
^My pass says "Gold" on it. That means "free" parking. They basically replaced the word parking with word gold on the pass. Before, they used to have a pass, and I remember that sometimes it said parking on it, and sometimes it was a peel on sticker. Now, people are just supposed to realize that gold = parking. Gold gives you a couple more perks, but it's not a lot more than parking which is the whole reason a person would really want a gold pass.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
What I want to know is why the hell do they pull your passes if you miss one payment? I became unemployed for a couple of weeks, even gave them my new card info to take the payment out. Calls to the park and Palmer Law office have been fruitless, thus I am missing Fright Fest year. So pissed off about it!
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.

I see what you mean. My pass doesn't even say "gold" (see attached).

I guess anyone that looks like you could use it because it still has your picture on it. It seems like they are also going the way of Cedar Fair and having your picture come up on a screen for the gate attendant to verify your identity. For those of you who don't have a Cedar Fair pass, it doesn't have your picture, or even your name on it (however they do ask that you write your name on it). The barcode is linked in their system to your account and all of your information comes up when it's scanned.
One thing I would like to see though is some kind of perk for renewing a pass. Perhaps a 1% discount per consecutive year the renewee has had a pass. I've had one since 2007, and have yet to see any kind of perk for renewing. They do have all of these promos for early purchasing, but there is no incentive to renew a pass for the following season.
Do any chains give you "perks" to renew a pass you've previously owned?
I decided to go with the gold membership. Yes, I did the math and realized you're only paying $8.22 more which isn't exactly breaking the bank for me (but I realize that everyone has different financial situations)
What will be interesting....after this first year, is whether or not you stay "locked in" to this price, or if the monthly price goes up if they raise the cost of a membership per month....

Great America has you write your name on the back but they are not taking pictures anymore either.

They're not going to be using pictures at all, it'll be based on biometric finger stuff (like Disney tickets are).
Also, I'm almost positive that last year when you bought a pass online, there was a question asking if you were renewing, and if you were there was a discount of a few dollars. Nothing like that this year, though.
Does anyone know what they are doing with people who got their 2014 passes processed before they implemented the new system? My 2014 pass still has my picture on it.
It still has the barcode. I think it wont be a problem. You will still need to do your fingerprints. You just got your pic taken unnecessarily is all. Someone do correct me if Im wrong.
