V2 Startup Siren

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Do any of you that have been fortunate enough to be around the ride when it needed to be restarted, know what the startup alarm is? Is not a typical siren, but I'm sure it's some standard alarm. Ie) American Eagles startup 'buzzer' is a fire alarm

The siren/alarm means that the train is lunching in maintenance mode.

It means the ride is being started by maintenance so that it 'can' launch. They turn their key on, and hold "ride start", and the siren/alarm goes off. It has nothing to do with it actually launching, just a clear the way because its able to be launched warning.

^You're both wrong....kinda. It makes that sound for both types of startup, whether it's maintenance mode or auto mode. There are times when an employee stops only the lift without stopping the entire ride and a supervisor can restart it...The rides will make a sound then too.

My example applies to Eagle....
Let's say the employees sent the train too early and the train reached the top of the lift before the other train cleared the helix brake, the ride will automatically stop because a train is approaching an occupied block...This is something that requires maintenance to restart.

This is for every modern coaster, it's not just Six Flags specifically.

For V2, a lot of the times it gets stuck just past the station, and they start it up again so the train can go backwards in the station again rather than just lauching it from where it's at.

Very true Goku, you said what I was referring to, I was just too lazy to type the other part from before as well. I'm not always the clearest while typing my thoughts :-P
