So I'm coming up on my 10th year of being a coaster enthusiast and I'm starting to look at some clubs or groups that I could join. I've mostly stayed in the Midwest, so I'm looking to go beyond that and ride some other great coasters this nation has to offer. I don't intend to join ACE so we can rule that one out of the picture, but i was wondering if any of you are a part of a club or would like to recommend one. Thanks!

No other clubs really have a lot of events. I'm a member of Great Ohio Coaster Club. Much cheaper than ACE though of course significantly less benefits, but still you can get admission into any park sponsored events like Holiwood Nights, Coastin by the Ocean, Coastermania, etc, there is also newsletters and magazines, both quarterly I believe, and they seem to work ok as reading material in the shitter.
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073
Even though Robb can be difficult, TPR has always been very organized and does a great job of planning the trips I have been on. I believe it's $35 a year to be a member, but the great thing is you don't have to be a member to take part.
You know, I actually enjoy watching most of his YouTube videos. Just annoying to have every turn and drop announced. I don't see him doing that anymore.

You get a really great color magazine, quarterly newsletters and alot of really fun events. It's not for everyone, and your mileage may vary, but my son and I quite enjoy ACE.
I enjoyed it but just do t have the money or time. I'd live to be part of it again.

I'm a member of CoasterForce, and it's not that you get discounts (or at least huge ones) but you do get ERT, tours, and early openings/late closings as a member.

I vote ACE for offline stuff, and TPR for online stuff. Robb's videos can't be beat... and the site has everything you could want... I've been an ACE member for a very long time, but the online presence is sadly 10-15 years behind the times. Hopefully that will change. ACE carries a wide range of folks - ages all over the place, etc. More "mom and pop" type club.
The combined cost of both clubs is $100, right? Not too bad. Skip the season passes and spend that money on coaster club events. You will meet plenty of new coaster nerds, good stuff.
I get a lot out of ACE events and also from visiting TPR. It occurred to me that it's lame to bash either one (as is commonly done); both have their faults.
