Going alone?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

What do you guys think about it? You wait in line alone then ride the ride alone.

It depends on who I'm with. If it's people like my family, who really don't like roller coasters all that much, I'm fine, I'll listen to music, be able to get away from them for awhile. But if it's a group of friends, I'll definitely do what they want to do, I want to be able to spend time with them.

I like to go to the park alot and can't always find people to go with me so I go alone alot. It's still fun but it's nice to go with people when I can. The biggest thing about going alone is the waits seem much longer.

I've made trips after work several times and usually can't find anyone that wants to go with. I have no problem going alone and getting in a few coasters in a night. I also sometimes may just walk around and take some pictures. It's a nice time to work on photography when there's no one else with you and you're moving at a slower pace.

Very early in the season I'll go alone just to kill time. Once crowds pick up, forget it. Also, this:

I live about 45-50 minutes from the park, so going alone is def not an option. Whats the point of driving all that time and wasting gas to go alone? Plus when I'm with friends we never ride alone, its either everyone goes on or no one goes on the ride. If someone does want to stay back because they are feeling sick, then one of us stays behind not to leave them alone, or we just don't go on the ride. There is always another time.

Anyway, I thought I'd just put this out there in case a newbie on this site doesn't know or if any one of you out there don't know. But here is the sites meetup and gathering forum/thread for people who would like to meet at the park for us coaster enthusiasts. Just create a new topic and post which days you're going and if you would like company. Maybe one day I'll meet one of you enthusiasts?

I live about 35 min from the park and I sometimes like to go by myself because then I can do what I want, go on what rides I want and if I want to go see one of the shows I can go without having someone who doesn't want to go see them.

SF trips 10= 11
SF trips 11 =7

I live over an hour away. The ride hasn't stopped me. I do prefer going with others of course but not having anyone to go with doesn't stop me from going.

It's not something I would do.

Why the park has meaning for me is the people I've gone with: My family when I was younger and my girlfriend now. In a weird sort of way, the park has shaped my experiences and feelings about both quite a bit, but that's not for getting into here.

It's hard for me to picture waiting in line with my thoughts alone for an hour for a ride. Plus, I'll admit -- knowing my girlfriend is by my side makes a few of the rides easier to ride. Honestly, I'd probably give the park up if (heaven forbid) something were to happen and we were to break up. She kind of got me back into it and it's hard for me to imagine being there with anyone else now.
