Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

This morning/afternoon it was pretty "dead" at the park. Pun intended.

^For the first week of Fright Fest it's pretty dead on here considering Saturday the park was mobbed with people! I'm kind of surprised we haven't had 5 pages of Fright Fest stuff just about this weekend.

Went on Saturday, fist pumped the night away in Fright Club. Yeah, that's right. Did not do any of the houses yet, but I do plan on going to them.
Lines were not that bad, yes, there was waiting, but if your fist pumping the night away in Fright Club, then you don't have to worry about it.
Seems like there was a lack of decorations this year around the park. Maybe it's just me, but I only thought it was okay. I really enjoy Giant Drop randomization, it made it extra thrilling.
Only left 1 line due to wait, Snakes on the Train! Could not tell if Viper, I mean, Snakes on the Train was only running 1 train or what! But it was taking forever and 3 days! So left the line. Park was empty about 9:30-10:00 for some shorter lines (yes, rides still had lines)
As said before, Fright club was a good idea if you want to not wait in lines or just to chill, have some brewski's. It will be Intresting to see if they keep it next year being I like 2 people were actually watching/standing there. About 10 were in the 'club' all together. Great place to get your fist pumping on.

Agreed. Best new addition - better than any of the houses, which in my honest opinion are the worst they have been in the last few years. I am not singling out any, they are all bad. The reason I said nothing after Preview Night was because I didn't want to bum anybody out. Maybe they just sucked Preview Night, but then doesn't that defeat the purpose? You'd figure they'd go all out during that. Ok, end rant. LOL.

Fright Club was amazing, but the nearly $11 a beer made my wallet cry. I wish there were an option to purchase a pitcher and split the cost with several people. At least the beers are 20+ oz.

Valhalla Fire was fun, except once the ride really gets flying the fog can't get to you. Get a side car by the foggers to be blasted just before it takes off.

La Maison d'Obscurite needs more fog - one fogger can't fill it - but I guess that vent they have inside makes that slightly impossible anyway.

Terror Twister 2 rocks, but we knew it would, right? :D

Demon was great - lots of fire and fog and the theme song blasting everywhere.

Giant Drop of Doom < Hellevator. I'll leave it at that.

And to whoever noticed the lack of decorations - I also slightly agree. I remember the days of every railing covered in that rope, or cobwebs. I also miss the classic Halloween Theme Song(s) that occasionally would play.

All in all, Fright Fest 2012 gets a solid 7/10 from me.

I think the decorations were better this year. Having everything covered with cobwebs and rope just looks cheesy in my opinion. Thinks like the popcorn cart, ferris wheel, raceway cars and giant Mardi gras mask are new and actually make the park look better. Just covering things in cobwebs add nothing to the themed areas.

You know that isn't what I meant. I was merely making an example, that be it "cheesy" there was more of it. They could of done WAY more than they did.

I was thinking the same way, not necassary the webs ect.. Just it feels like less then normal theming for this year. Granted, I haven't been to fright fest for a couple of years but I remember it being more 'festive.'

Totally unrelated question about the beer at the park; anyone know if they had coronas at Fright Club or only draft?

I was there sunday all I gotta say it was just ok. There was not much decor in certain parts of the park. Deadline and manslaughter manor sucked. Medical and Mot were good.

^Would the park even be open Friday? Opening temperature around 53, and at 9 pm it's 45 degrees. How many of the coasters would even be open with that temperature?

Park will be open. They only really close if its raining... But, I can not recall when they closed during fright fest. I'm hoping for a touch of colder weather myself! Ride fest; here I come! (Hopefully)

53 degrees is not cold enough to effect any of the coasters (except Whizzer, but even that shouldn't be too hard to get going). And it doesn't matter how cold it gets later. Once the coasters are running, they will run fine all day/night. The only time there might be an issue is if there was a maintenance or rain downtime and the ride was stopped in the cold for a long time.

Cool, now could you type it again in English? I think I see faint traces of it in that pile of letters, but I can't be sure.

There's an even cooler one with a Demon sitting on top of the main tombstone where the picture is on the back of the hoody, instead of the front one that has the tombstone for Tiny.

They also have a very cool one with zombies and rides in green.

I was wondering why the music didn't come back when they changed the site over to the Fright Fest theme.
