2013 season dining pass

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby DejaVu2001 on September 18th, 2012, 4:04 pm
I've used the Dining Pass probably about 50-60 times now. I've never had any of the issues that GayCoasterGuy has had. That may be because I always eat right at the beginning of each meal (lunch at 11:30, dinner at 4:30). The food certainly isn't going to win any awards (what corporate theme park food would), but considering by the end of the year I'll be averaging around $0.90 a meal, I'll take it.

once i went to mooseburger during the summer and they were out of burgers (was around 715P.M.) and yes i understood that because it was late and busy that day.....and YES food vouchers are valid at FF....it clearly states that its a SEASON dining pass....not being able to be used during FF...it wouldnt be called a season dining pass cause FF is part of six flags's season

So kinda curious, what happens if you go to a restaurant and they don't have what you want? Raincheck? Go hungry? I would be annoyed if I went to a restaurant for their main dish and they didn't have it. WOuld I have to go eat at another joint? Im curious what a restaurant at the park does when they run out of a certain food.

I am sure they ask you to visit another food place with the similar kind of food that you wanted.

This. I typically eat at the County Fair Food Court so it's not a huge walk. Great place for the bar-b-q and corn dogs. Stay away from their pizza - it's not made there and it's cold and rubbery. Pizza made at Angelo's (where I figure all of it is made) is descent.

I know what you mean...last time I had their pizza I seriously had flashbacks of eating at my high school cafeteria. Pizza is just terrible. Now the pass covers a meal. Does a meal include a main dish, a side and a drink?...what about beer? Ive seen the beer stand in the County Fair food court, but no one is ever there.

You couldn't pay me to eat the food inside the park, and I am very surprised anyone wants to have nearly unlimited meals when they are so crappy. Plus lines for food are always ridiculous. Just gross stuff all around.

There is certainly food that isn't that good, but alot of food that is fresh, hot and tasty.

Some of my families faves:

Aunt Martha's Fried Chicken
JB's Bar-B-Q (all of it is solid, brisket is awesome)
Andre's Coaster Dogs
Angelo's Pasta and Pizza (Pizza is actually good and hot here - they have the ovens so it's fresh)
Cyber Cafe has been good. (The Chicken Caeser wrap was good, the Buffalo Chicken wrap I threw away after a bit, it was nasty, but it could have been that particular wrap)

As always, it boils down to preference. The lines for food have always been 5-15 long, so that really hasn't changed with this deal. as long as you don't wait to the last second to get food it's not bad.

I am not a big fan of SF and CF corporate food at their parks, but I get a kick out of people that say "I would rather leave the park and get food from places like Burger King, McDonalds etc". Are you kidding me? These fast food joints serve up the same crap, just in different varieties. If you frequent SFGAm and have the dining pass, you are making out alot better.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

^ Yeah, that only makes sense because it is way cheaper. But you can just bring your own food. You know, fresh fruits and such. It's always great to go to your car, put on some music that doesn't suck and just relax away from the GP for a bit.

You know what I did? The wife and I ate at Aunt Martha's Chicken place and we got the crappiest food ever. It was cold, nasty, totally unedible. I took both plates back and asked for the manager and I asked her, If they are proud of the food they serve. She said why yes we are. I told her about how bad the food was but I was nice about it because I know how their kitchen there operates and they cook the food way ahead of time, (the Chicken) and she did what she could do to get us fresh, hot food. It ended up being good food. my hat is off to her because she really did care. I almost totally hate McDonalds. I can tolerate Burger King once in a while.
Candy: What you lookin' at?
Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama.
Candy: Yeah, you see something you like?
Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.

Awesome. Doesn't look like the price is updated, or it's not changing. I wonder if it's chain-wide now?
