Shows are all the same as last year. Still waiting for info on the attractions.

The following attractions require an additional fee: Mausoleum of Terror, Wicked Woods, Massacare Medical Center, Manslaughter Manor and The Dead Line Haunted Train

Yes, the train is an upcharge. But it will be very well done, and completely unlike anything the park has ever done before.

Also, there are two wristband options for the haunted attractions:

Haunt Wristband (Unlimited haunts on all premium haunt experiences) available for $19.99.

Express Haunt Wristband (Expedited premium haunt access) available for $59.99.

Can the Haunt wristband only be used the day you buy it? It'd be great if they offered a haunt pass that lasted all Fright Fest.

Had hoped that the Woods walkthru was not an upcharge (much like Necropolis) but, alas. My girls are 11 and 12, so Necropolis is as far as they will go. They have sussed out that anything you pay for *has* to be significantly scarier, so its a no go for them.

Looking forward to details on the train - maybe I can get them on that.

Also, add me to the folks who want JPM to return - BADLY. The vampires were AWESOME. The werewolves were AWESOME. And I saw clowns being taken to task by park staff when people complained. Now THAT is dedication to craft. The fully developed CHARACTERS make all the difference. Gore does not equal scare. JPM were pros. You cannot take that in-house and replicate, no matter how dedicated the local talent is. Thats not a shot to the six flags folks - its a testament to JPM.

Oh. My. God.

CHICAGO (FOX Chicago News) -
A man whose daughter fell while being chased by a character at Six Flags Great America's Halloween-themed Fright Fest last year filed a $30,000 lawsuit Monday against the Gurnee theme park.

Marian Pieczonka claims his young daughter Natalie was at the park Oct. 9, 2011, for Fright Fest at the Hunted Trails when a character jumped out of a port-a-potty, frightening her, and shot her with a water gun.

She tripped and fell as the character began to chase her, leaving her with scrapes, cuts and bruises, the suit claims.

Her father blames Six Flags Great America for encouraging employees to frighten and chase patrons inside the park, despite the presence of tripping hazards, the suit said.

A spokesperson for Six Flags did not immediately return messages Monday evening.

The one-count suit seeks $30,000 in damages.

Well, that father has dollar signs in his eyes. Question. Why did wait until today to file the suit? I doubt will stand.

The video for Manslaughter Manor is terrible...I mean waste of 46 seconds...theres nothing about SIx Flags in it...its just a walk through a hallway and thats it. Kinda lame.

I am annoyed the train will be an upcharge attraction...though I think I am going to pay to go on it. Will you have to buy a wristband to go on the train? Or can you pay to ONLY go on the train. If I must get a wristband to only ride the train, then might as well try out the rest of the haunted attractions like Wicked Woods.

I am glad that Necropolis will return and be in normal fashion. :D

Also that guy that is suing will not win. Corporations like Six Flags have legions of lawyers to deal with this kind of lawsuit and I am sure we can all agree that Mr. Cheapskate has nothing but money in his mind, more so than than his own daughter. If he really cared about his daughter, he would of taken immediate action, not wait a whole flippin year.... Oooh wow, scrapes cuts and bruises...heard of a band-aid? Hydrogen Peroxide? Neosporin? Sheesh! Cheap@$$. I really hope he loses the case...I will laugh.

Yes, I didn't imagine that peeps were flown in from Australia to work in Gurnee.
I didn't mean local in a geographic sense. I meant local as in part of the parent company and not third party. There is a reason companies outsource things to vendors - to gain expertise and efficiency. The reasons they take things back in house are almost always cost related. Financial decisions simply do not take into account the intangibles - they are not designed to. But the end result - while better for the bottom line - loses something. JPM is a very clear example of this.

Is it just me, or does the haunted trains story line sound exactly like Zombielands?

From the SFGAm newsletter, it looks like Wicked Woods is going to be where Roaring Rapids is, they drained all the water for us to walk through where the water used to be! I think thats pretty cool! :P They also mention a Tour Guide being snatched from the group, Im kinda curious and wonder if you start out in groups, and you have a tour guide at the beginning then he gets snatched and your group is left alone to travel Wicked Woods alone.
Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mzUm_hB5Ro

The Dead Line Train looks kind of lame. From the description, it will be the ONLY "Zombie Free" zone, You and your family will first enjoy a relaxing, scenic, and completely safe ride through the dead zone. Booorrring!!! :x I would hope scare actors would come out and scare you on the train or something.

I like also some of the name changes. Whizzer - BioHazard(instead of swamp thing), Giant Drop - Giant Drop of Doom, Fiddler's Fling - Valhalla Fyre, King Chaos - The Dying Trapeze, Rue Le Dodge - La Maison d'Obscurite, Demon - Demon  , Demon Area - Hellmouth, County Fair - The Ruins of Fenrir, Orleans Place - Bayou de Vaudou, Necropolis - Necropolis :D

Also frightfest.sixflags.com is STILL under construction...so the new link is frightfest.sixflags.com/greatamerica/

Finally, I am somewhat very glad the new Fright Fest party Club aka "Fright Club" will be NC-17. Well at least it won't be crowded with kids, there will still be annoying high schoolers and yeah...wish it was 21+...*sigh* :x  I wonder why they couldn't make it 21+, whats the difference in being NC 17 than making it 21+ or heck, 18+? Oh well, I am kind of curious how Fright CLub will play out this year, also I read that Fright Club will NOT be an upcharge, it will be included with you admission to the park.

Thats just the story line, it isn't actually going to be zombie free. As I said before, its the same storyline as Zombieland if you've seen that. Zombie outbreak - train is taking us to a "safe zone" which also happens to be a theme park - zombies get in. Simple stuff.

Does anyone know if this is a round trip ride?

From what I've heard, the themed section of the train is from Hometown Square to County Fair. You will board the train at the Hometown Square station, and everyone will exit the train in County Fair. There will be a big surprise near the County Fair station. Guests can ride the unthemed half from County Fair to Hometown Square for free, and everyone must exit the train at Hometown Square.

Hmmmph...only half of the train ride got decorated and re-themed? Interesting... :? I wonder why...to save money perhaps?

It's probably a way for the park to save money. That would be my guess atleast. I am sure the park is always looking for ways to save as much money as they can.
