See what I said about Viper refurbishment. Thanks to them for saying the same as I said. :P

Whatever is replacing Iron Wolf is going to be a roller coaster. Why else would they keep the station and the queue?

Taking it one step further, it would obviously have to be able to use it relative to its current state. Hopefully that rules out something like a Zac Spin? Granted, it could be modified but I don't see the purpose of modifying that large of a station to accomodate a Zac Spin, nor do I see them building a Zac Spin that high off the ground when I'm pretty sure most of the others are somewhat close to ground level.

^^I personally would rather see Viper get a make over as well. To me Eagle runs fine and is the better ride. Viper to me has mood swings. Some days it's fun , others boring and others rough. I want a Texas Giant like rehab for the ride but that probably won't happan.

Also a GCI in IW's spot is nice too. I like the yeti theme someone suggested

A lot of the stuff from SWF and the antique cars like the queue were still standing after they close and they weren't reused. Parts of trailblazer is still up as well. Great America seems to just leave stuff standing until something new is opening on it's spot. They pretty much just took out Iron Wolf and left everything else, there are still signs hanging in the station. So yes it could be reused, but it could also just be that the don't want to pay to remove it until it needs to be removed.

SFGAm loves to turn old stations into Funnel Cake shops. So I'll put my money on that, even though there is already a Funnel Cake shop next to Iron Wolf.

If you are comparing Eagle to Viper, Eagle to me is definitely rougher but if you go out to many other parks, there are way worse wooden coasters in regards to roughness. Those 2 don't even come close to how rough some of these wooden coasters are. I would wish the park builds another wooden coaster instead of Eagle, and they would see how much greater a wooden coaster could be.

The problem is that it's become an icon no matter what ridership it gets because it's so close to the highway. If the park is going to keep that ride for awhile, than that ride really, really needs a paint job. Out of the priority with paint, I think that ride deserves number one above every thing else because of how bad it's looking with paint. Second, is top of the Carousel and third in my opinion is Pictorium. The Pictorium isn't a lot of paint though. I'm only talking about the pink part of it. It would be better if it was a better color like green, but it needs it in my opinion. This is a somewhat older picture, but the pink area is the area that needs it. It looks worse in person than in this picture. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonrev/2739391198/ If I had a 4th, that would be the flumes.

Look at Splash water Falls before X Flight. They tore out the ride itself but left everything else until construction started. I dont think they'll reuse the station and queue I just think they will keep it up until they begin construction on a new ride there.

Heres a possibility. Take out Triple Play and HTFM they dont have a line anyways. Move the Train Station to the HTFM then put the entrance and queue for a Maverick like LSM on that side of the midway. Have the lift go straight over the midway almost parallel with the train tracks. Then use the space between Whizzer, Viper, Pictorium, and the Bull for the ride. If possible, start the ride a bit higher than the train tracks so there is no worry about the brake run being too low. 2014 2015 Possibly?

Why not just demolished Eagle instead of spending money retrackin it like Texas Giant and replaced it with a 500ft mega coaster called Eagles Revenge who cares about those idiot politicians or village board in lakecounty or Gurnee let Great America build whatever they want just like Cedar Point

I heard awhile ago that zoning regulations have changed from 100' to 300' from a road in Gurnee. So I don't believe another coaster can replace it, or at least use a lot of Eagle's current footprint. If this is true, that's why it should be given a makeover someday. It's a great candidate to have new, smooth, modern airtime.

Does anyone know what is going on with Rue Le Dodge? They have all these flags on the top of it, and the flags are not the typical flags. They have those typical ones towards the front, but these are flags arranged in a rectangle on top of the roof. They are sort of like this: http://www.swimshop.com/images/PABBHHHDOFNLALOC.jpg

I just rode it this Monday and didn't notice those. Could you be more specific to where they are?

They are turning rue le dodge into a dueling pianos bar for their upcomming mardi gras event. Get ready for Brew le dodge. http://www.sixflags.com/greatAmerica/events/2012MardiGras.aspx

Are you sure it's a new roof or for the Mardi Gras celebration? If it's not for that, it's good to see the park implementing improvements around the park.

^ It is definitely a new roof. Look at all the materials up there.

It'd be nice to see them do a little work on the inside of Rue Le Dodge too. The inside is a bit drab and putting something up on the walls would make it look nicer. Is there a second exit for the ride that goes through the arcade? I seem to remember using that during Fright Fest, but I might be mistaken.

^ The only exit used to be through the arcade. They switched it to the current configuration during the 2011 season.

I doubt they will do much interior work on it until the offseason. They can do the roof now because they can work up there while the ride is operating.

^ Any particular reason they don't use it anymore? The only real benefit I see from the new one is that you exit the same way you came in. The new one seems much more cramped and takes longer to get everyone out, which doesn't help the fact that they won't let any incoming riders on the floor until all the people who just rode exit.

^I disagree with that. I think the new exit is way better than the old exit. Before, you needed the employee to walk all the way to that side just to open the big door, and than close it afterwards. Also, all the guests even if they are on the right side of the ride (Their car is towards the right side at the end of the ride.) have to go to the left side. Now, they are going more towards the middle. Plus, even though the opening may have been bigger with the exit before you still had to go through that thing that goes around in a circle (not a turnstyle but called something else). Now, you just exit through a gate in which they open that is right by the employees. I will always think that turnstyles at the end of rides are the worst possible idea. Everyone has to stop so much to go through them, and that wastes a lot of time.

There was also another exit they have used too. You have the left arcade one, and sometimes during Fright Fest, they opened a small door with a latch on the right side.

^ The employee only had to open and close the door during Fright Fest. During the regular season, it was just left open

Good news!
Six Flags Great America would get a new coaster for 2015 :) and put it at the space available where Iron Wolf was located.

Hint: +100 ft, +70 mph, 1-3 inversion(s), and 12 riders.
Emotion: Thrilled!

^ clearly LSM, but by 2015 it'll be so out of date. Probability seems quite limited.
