Indiana Beach (Monticello, IN) offers a $15 Combination Ride, Waterpark Pass upon presentation of your valid ACE membership card. IB says it's not valid even though It's on the 2012 ACE benefits page.Why it's like this I have no idea. Not cool though.

Well, when it says ACE gets a 15.00 combo pass and if I join ACE for 80$, I had better get what I pay for in the way benefits. It is Morgan Resorts doing whatever the hell they want again. It's like if you have a coupon for a store, they better honor it. So IB and ACE are both at fault here. Neither one of them have their game face on.

I completely disagree with you and I could care less if I get a damn discount. I joined ACE because I like coasters. IB has a great line up of wood coasters.

I was pointing out that $2.50 is really no big deal for people complaining they aren't getting the full discount they were originally told they would get. The coasters are okay there. I thought Cornball Express was over rated, but a decent ride. Steel Hawg is decent too and that type of ride would probably be good at a park like SFGAm. However, their staff is rather rude, operations are extremely slow, and the park just doesn't seem clean. I usually consider it a good day if I'm riding coasters, but I just couldn't spend a whole day at this park because they irritated me too much. I'm glad I went, and I'm glad I left.
I wouldn't agree that IB "strikes back"... I mean... striking back would be a little more aggressive or negative, wouldn't it?
But I see your point. My point of view (I am an ACE member) is that I think it's great to be awarded a discount; but I will miss that extra few bucks of course. It's along the same lines as when Cedar Fair purchased Kings Island and the early morning "walk back" to the Beast (or other popular coasters) stopped altogether. (Again, some will miss it, but it's hardly a tragedy.)
Hrm... I don't feel IB has necessarily struck back at anyone, however (per my visits in the last 3 years) IB has given it's loyal customers (and employees, from what I have heard) a collective middle finger. I have heard good reports about this year, so far... I hope they are true.

I agree with you Billy, but Why would the ACE site say one thing and IB do another? Being unemployed every penny counts to me, but I'm not going to let being unemployed stop me from having fun. Yes, I too agree that IB is improving, but, you can still see the anguish among some of the employees that they just don't want to be there. I was eating in the Skyroom Sat evening and it was extremely evident that the girl at the Skyride station hates her job just in her body language. She had a real bad "tude" If you hate the job that much quit otherwise try to make the best of it so your customers don't see how pissed off you are. Too get back on subject, I joined ACE because I love coasters and like going to the parks. If I see something wrong, I'm going to whine and moan as some of you non ACE members call it as I was in customer service for 30+ years and as a manager for 25 of those years, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT NO MATTER HOW DAMN WRONG HE IS!

Do you have any idea what a colossal failure that ride would be at a park the size of SFGAm?
It certainly wouldn't be a hit like X-Flight or have the sustained ridership of something like S:UF, but it could fill a spot at a park this size.

This is just how teens think. They think every job they work is the worst job in the world and don't want to be there, yet never have a problem cashing their paycheck. When I worked at a movie theatre from the ages of 16-20, I heard the same kind of attitude from a lot of people there, even though it honestly wasn't a terrible job. It's something with the entitled way people think.They have no perspective of what a real job is or what a bad job is.

Give it a little time. The word will get the correct person or people at ACE and the discount rule will be changed with ACE. I don't care to be honest... (well, I am broke, but...) I just want IB to run well. If a ride has a line, put the 2nd train on, etc... I could care less about fresh paint. I want the fun back that I had at IB starting in 1990 and ending about 3 years ago.

When I was a member of Ace in 2009, their discounts took at least 6 months to list member discounts online. When they finally did come up, even then some of them were wrong. Not sure if it was a lack of people on the website or the club just having terrible communications, but it was part of the reason I left ace. So who knows if this was a case of IB messing with people or ACE having outdated info.
Hh hmmm... Wonder if I could start my own club. Call it ChainDog. At least everything would be current. I agree with you too Billy. That was fun times at IB. I just want the park to fun well too. It just isn't the same. I wrote my trip report on Coasterbuzz.

One thing to remember about ACE is that it is run by it's members. There is not a supreme MAN (or POSSE) at top making the rules, dishing out Kool-Aid, and making money off of it (I am not referring to other coaster clubs, of course. <- Big lie.)
That kind of thing is fine too, if you like. It's there if you want it. There are pros and cons to every coaster club. The pros to the type of club mentioned above (the Kool Aid clubs) is that you may get deep discounts on park trips and you will always be given the *magic gun* that lets you cut in front of other "general public" folks waiting in lines. One of the cons is that you may turn into a complete jerk to everyone around you, and be completely un-aware of it. (It's hard to see what an jerk you are when you are hanging out with a whole crew of jerks.)
There are online clubs/forums that behave the same way.
Are you an ACE member? If yes, have you tried to get involved to keep up said information? Have you volunteered or ask if you are needed? It's YOUR club; you can start stuff, help, give ideas, go to meetings, etc, etc, etc...
I'm just trying looking at it from an opposite point of view.
I've done a couple of things with ACE in past years. Not much, a couple of things. I thought it would be fun, but if people consider anyone in a coaster club to be a jerk or whatever, I want no part of the club. I'n not a jerk and hopefully never will be. I'm just a guy out of work looking for discounts so i can go and have fun and hopefully meet some cool good people. Man, i don't want to be clasified as a jerk.

Every "special interest" group (trekkies, toy collectors, sports fans, etc...) will always have an assortment of very nice people, and complete jerks. Then all the people that fall in-between those types. Some groups (and online coaster forums) have more jerks than nice folks and vice versa, of course.
