I'm going with my wife under the ACE couples membership on May 10th.What happens on this day? Anyone ever been to one of these? I've never been to one of these except for the one Indiana Beach had for LOCOSUMO a few years back and it was miserble weather and we couldn't ride the coaster. Are they going to have food?
Candy: What you lookin' at? Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama. Candy: Yeah, you see something you like? Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.
^I don't know if they are going to have food, but I hope so!
I'm going with the mind set of simply being a well-behaved guest, and do what is needed of me.
It may be a really fun thing, it may be where we have to sit around and shut up alot, or somewhere in between.
I went to the Hades media day back in 2005, and it was a blast. Which was nice, because now going to Mt. Olympus is usually not too much fun...
I've been to a few events over the years, some were great - some not so much.
I have no clue what to expect from a Six Flags park. Guess we'll find out Thursday I'll be sure to pack a peanut butter and banana sandwich in case there is no food. Get grumpy when I don't eat
We were told that we have to show our membership #.

You should have an emailed receipt or your number will be on your ACE membership card.

Did you guys remember to send a reply to Scott Heck agreeing to the guidelines? I was reminded by ACE reps at opening day to do this, which I just did. If you haven't, do it ASAP! so he can e-mail the park saying everyone agrees!

I did as well. We don't need a confirmation AFTER that, though? Just want to be sure.
Never been to a Media Day before and really excited for it.
For those not able to attend the ACE event,
Follow SFGAmWorld.com on this site, FB and @SFGAmWorld on twitter! Dave and I will have complete coverage of Media and also Season Pass Preview day on May 12th!
Who wants to ride in front? Probably everyone. Who wants to ride in back on right? Left? Probably everyone. Who wants to try front and back on the outside? Probably everyone.
I hope the ACErs that get to the train first are willing to *share* their seats with everyone
I wonder if they have that figured out, or will it be every man woman and mutant to themselves
I hope it's not everyone for themselves. That will make me very angry. I'm goning to want to try all over the train. I can't wait. I'm an ACEr, a new one..lol. Had a trial membership last year. I usually like sitting in the ront to catch the flies and protect everyone else.
I'm kidding I can sit anyplace but I do want to try different seats. I'm sure there will be someone there throwing there weight around telling someone to get out of a seat they want. If someone does that it's just immature IMHO.
I hope they have food availble, coaster riding works up an appetite.

Front row will probably be very difficult to get on Media Day, because which ever train has the camera mounted will probably only allow actual media people in the front.
Im hoping I can get the back left a couple times, maybe the front once, but I won't get picky. I will gladly take any seat I can get. Im just glad I get to ride it early

The Park has changed so much since 2005, A Hades Media day would almost be considered a period piece. Shoot, the last time Mt. O was good, Six Flags was ran by Keiran Burke.

That's a very amiable attitude that I am adopting. I will do what I am asked to do *from staff*. But I'll be damned if I ride in the middle while some snotty *coaster fan* (that knows every staff member, or not) refuses to get out of the front, or back

LOL!!!! I'm hoping they make us all switch seats after riding each time.

Everyone seems to think this is some kind of ERT session. There are many media days where most people get one or two rides the entire day.
There are also media days where you can rack up lots of rides, hundreds if you so desire. It really depends on what SFGAm has in mind, and the needs of the media. Also if they decide to do B-Roll and commercial stuff which is when people tend to rack up rides, generally there will be at least semi-assigned seating depending on what you're wearing and what you look like.
Basically, everyone who goes, I'd say expect a single ride on X-Flight and a whole lot of standing around doing nothing. Anything you get above and beyond that is a bonus and and should be treated as such.
And both kinds have happened at SFGAm, Superman I heard was a free for all riding session for the most part, while the media day I was at for Rajun Cajun/Mardi Gras, a very strict one ride limit was enforced on Cajun unless you could talk some media outlet into wanting you to ride on camera.
