I noticed this past Sunday that neither Viper nor Ragin' Cajun had their photo booths open and neither ride even had a camera at the ride. Are the photos gone for good or are they just not in place yet? Also I saw a camera on American Eagle, I was wondering if they may be redoing that camera or if it never left and I just miss it all the time.
Remember, there's nothing but air beneath the chair.
American Eagle used to sell onride pictures at the exit under the tent, in 04 they stopped selling them at Eagle and left the cameras SBNO and started selling them at Viper (with the photo booth made out of an old Dippin Dots stand). BTR's camera stick is still there also its after the 2nd loop.
When I went on logger's run on last saturday at noon. On-ride photo was open. I was surprise it did because they open the ride to train the staff. This weekend water water rides officially open. Except for BB. When I saw my photo it was fuzzy. I guess this week they will be test and adjust the cameras.
I surprise that more rides should be available for On-ride photos. Since the contact with Kodak - Officially Six Flags Photographer Campaign the last 3 years.
I've always wondered where riders would view their pics after riding Batman. Was there a booth set up past the ride exit or was it in the exit path like most other rides with the on-ride cameras?
^I imagine they had someone up there - in that booth for Eagle because at one time they were running 3 trains per each side. It seems stupid nowadays saying that, but they probably didn't have great computers back than. I don't know. Or what about trimming near there like on Little Dipper??
For Eagles on-ride photo, it was right before the last helix I think. And the photo booth was in the far back of the tent, but it was on the left side right when you exited the line. I don't know about Whizzer.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
^^The birds nest on the Eagle - same as with similar positions on Colossus and Texas Giant (which I was lucky enough to spend some time at - a long walk up!). When I was sent to that position, there weren't specific instructions of what to do, just "watch the train and hit the red button if anything goes wrong." But that was 1995 at Six Flags Over Texas, the ride ops were generally clueless. There was plenty of jumping across tracks for the sport of it. One lax thing I really did enjoy was the occasional rides with single riders, gotta love that. NEVER EVER would that go over at Cedar Point.
Judge Roy Scream also had a lookout position - a chair at the base of the lift. You just watched the trains go up, and announce to people standing up to sit down - if they didn't - hit the red button and then go up and talk to them. We did that at least a couple times a week on the Cedar Point Blue Streak.
I used to think the "perch" positions were for blocking reasons, to make sure everything goes ok. I guess it is... but also, it's a place where you can see parts of the ride that you cannot see when you are operating the ride from the station. Those are some mega - coasters. I think they all have cameras now, and double and triple systems to make sure all the cars in a train are still connected together and moving alone as intended; blocking, etc.
