Disney and Universal are destination parks. They have the attendance and the means to build things like parking garages.

Name 1 SF, CF, or Paramount park that has a parking garage.

SFGAm's lots are VERY non chaotic compared to most parks iv'e been to, the only problem are the crazy drivers but not much you can do about that.

It really depends on where you park...I remember one visit in 2001 it took 1 1/2 hours to get out of the lot...lol, I fell asleep in the car because we were just sitting there! CP is really good with exiting.

When the Washington St. access road was open, it was a breeze to leave the lot. No waiting whatsoever.

Six flags entrence and exit can be hard sometimes, but easy most. My mom drops me off in the drop off section and picks me up there. The only time it was really packed was opening saterday of fright fest when there was a traffic jam all the way out onto the tollway, and the night on the second to last week of fright fest when I stayed 'till closing and it took my parents an hour to get from grand to the drop off. 38,000 people were in the park that day. At disneyland on new years eave, there was 84,000 people. Not that our park will ever get that much, or has the capacity for it, but they have a parking garage and nothing ever goes whrong.

I think we need a garage even if its only 3 storys tall and covers the back lot. If I owned six flags, I would put a garage either in the back lot, or on the other side of the tollway and have an underpass, or move the enterence onto the the side where outback and joes crab shack is.

One thing I WOULD NOT want to see at SFGAm is a tram to the lots that cause a lot of congestion at the front of the park. So a underpass is not a good idea.

Trams get in the way of cars and people when going to the front first of all. Then while in the front they let of hundreds of people t one time and it can get hard to walk with 100 people within 50 feet of each other.

Well I don't know just a thought...

Maybe they could move the parking lot across the highway, this will probably NEVER happen though, i just thought it would be cool. Then they could use the existing parking lot for more rides, and have some sort of over or underpass across the highway.

The existing parking lot is way too big to use it all for an expansion. Just look at it. That would be pretty cool, though. :D

Well, that thought will never happen as you mentioned.

1. Six Flags has recently sold the property they owned across the highway.

2. The Illinois Tollway Authority would never allow access over or under their highways.

It wouldn't happen, but its a funny thought, what if they could put the parking lot on the other side of the highway, then put the walkalators/people movers like what they have at O'hare. It's the newest pay attraction at SFGam.

"Your attention please, the moving walkway has now ended. Please watch your step and enjoy your dau here at Six Flags."
you can't believe it - you didn't mean it
but they saw you do it and they know your name

They never sold that land. At the ace non coastercon where they anounced mardi gras, they said they are still interested in the waterpark/ expansion, and the other plans that were scrapped were done so because of road expansion problems, probibly including the tollway. They still own it though.

Yes, they did sell that land. It is now going to become a business park.

The Daily Herald had an article on it, but unfortunately its to old to view.

I know they are still interested in a waterpark but it would happen on the main property.
