Well it looks like most of the foundations are grouted and we know cars are on site. Testing should start fairly soon.

Shhh,,, if Rick Santorum becomes president, he will have the coaster and this topic shut down.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I wasn't unimpressed by this coaster until now sadly. Won't try to say too much until I ride but looking at the size, and reading the other reviews for Swarm and Raptor, I can't say I am thrilled about this one. But who knows really...I've been surprised before.

^Honestly, I agree with you. I think this coaster is being very overhyped. I think it's going to just like a floorless coaster, but with how big the train is and seeing these videos for the other ones, I think it's going to go slower than a floorless. If SFGAm was getting Scream from Magic Mountain, I really doubt their would be 65 some pages about it, and that's why I think this ride is overhyped. I don't hate floorless coasters at all, but just saying.

The ride is a "shorter" ride as in track, but most of the coasters are short at Great America. Raging Bull and American Eagle are the only ride that are lenghty at the park.

^This ride looks like, and probably runs like, what I thought all along based on Raptor and a couple other things. If you thought different you dont pay much attention to details. No way this was ever going to be some intense ride. Its not "overhyped". No one is saying it will be the best ride ever. It is just the first major coaster at the park in a while so everyone is "hyped" for that.

I've had next to no interest in this ride since I've seen the layout, and everything I've seen supports that for me, but also I too have been surprised before. But with all that aside, I'm absolutely positive that this ride will be a hit with the GP, and that's what really counts. Cause it doesn't matter in the least if I like it, or if anyone else here likes it, what matters is if the majority of the 3 million or so visitors that pass though the gates this year like it. In the end the GP pays the bills.

Funny how some of the people who seemed the most excited for this coaster change their opinion in a matter of weeks.

I think that is because everyone saw how underwhelming Swarm was. How it goes slow through the zero-g, barrel roll, and the loop and all. I mean, these rides weren't meant to be like Furious Baco, and people are still bummed out.

It just looks to me like another good, but not great ride. Fun and rerideable, but not something that will make my top 5. I really hope it's smooth though.

The way I see it is that B&M wasn't getting too many parks wanting a Floorless coaster because either the park has a Sitdown coaster like Kumba, or they had a Floorless coaster like Dominator already at their park, so putting riders on the outside, they could potentially sell that type of coaster again. I think the reason why Arrow made X (4th Dimensional Coaster) look the way it does is to store the housing for the turning inside the middle of the train. For this ride, I really don't see a reason for people being on the ends.

Again, I think it's just a selling point for B&M. One can say that every B&M coaster has it's selling point, however I just see this as a Floorless, or a Sitdown coaster. Busch Gardens Tampa could buy this type of coaster, and B&M is going to say to them, hey you don't have a coaster with seats on the end.

Now, looking at the pictures of the Swarm at Thorpe Park, I really like that they have bought all these props such as Fire Engines, a Helicopter, a damaged Plane, and placed them around the ride, but I just think this ride is going to be overhyped. I think everyone is wishing for the next Raging Bull at the park - the next "great" big coaster. Could you imagine if the park got a B&M 4th Dimensional coaster though? If it worked, I think that type of coaster so many enthusiasts would be rating that high up there.

I won't say that this coaster won't be a great ride because I haven't ridden it yet obviously, and also because as I said I like rides like Kumba, Dominator, Hydra (a smaller B&M Floorless), Incredible Hulk, etc.. Some enthusiasts don't like Superman Ultimate Flight, but I think that's a great ride even though it's not in my top 20.

I'm hoping this coaster is a stepping stone to a true 4D. I would have to assume that converting a wingrider to a 4D has been discussed between B&M and the parks. I know there is no extra track rail installed, but maybe they are working on something that spins a different way. I expect this answered by about next year. Are parks laying off or are there a lot of orders?
I've really got a hunch Cedar Point will be installing a coaster next year, but I would think they would wait until these things spin, if they go in that direction. Then they they could tell MM to stick it!

Off-topic, but oh well - ^I think Cedar Point people would love a B&M Flyer. The only problem with that type of coaster is the maintenance like Six Flags gets broken seats on Superman. Also, Mean Streak should be dumped already, and get another wooden coaster.

I heard that for some reason Dick Kinzel did not like flyers and was focused on not losing any coasters. Now that he's gone, a flyer could certainly be possibility, but he just retired in Dec. and that may not be enough time to design and order one. Cedar Point supposedly has well developed plans that are always a few years ahead. Matt Ouimet is a former Disney guy who is now the new CEO. It remains to be seen if he will carry on Cedar Points legacy or if he will move the park in a more family friendly direction. Cedar Fair is also heavily in debt.

Not singling anyone out, but why don't we all ride the damn rollercoaster before saying what it is or isn't.

After we all ride it on the 12th, then let's armchair quarterback it ;)

So you're saying they could have had variable pitch while the passengers sat above or below the track??? That would be a mechanical nightmare...

For all those complaining about the primitive nature of B&M's wing riders, how is the concept any worse than a standard sitdown/florrless or an inverted? Just because those designs came first doesn't make them better. Combining a sitdown concept with an inverted concept seems like an entirely natural next step. Maybe B&M IS looking to get into 4Ds, but these non-pitching designs seem like perfectly enjoyable ride experiences. If you think this is a cheap attempt to give the public another gimmick to claw at, then why the hell aren't all the other coaster designs (like the much-aclaimed floorless) cheap gimmicks?
