They are already out of Space, and will need to remove attractions (I.E. Eagle,Whizzer, SSA) to compensate for the lack of space at the park.

Okay, this year we've been blessed with 5 new attractions! :D which like i have said all along, i didnt care and im happy with what we've got already. But, for you naysayers out there, i raise this question. "Is Great America now out of room to expand?"

Think about this for a second, Now im not sure where all these new rides are going to be located (With the exception of The Frisbee which the name escapes me right now) But, if theres any indication to where i beleive the New Ragin Cajun will be is where Power Dive and CCH where. As for the others, im sure there are people here who might think they know and another poster who posted something about a bridge being removed. Whatever that case, the question remains, Is GA out of Expansion space?
My answer is...They where already out of space already!

Sadly, i think that in order for new attractions to be added in the comming years some of our beloved coasters and rides will ultimately HAVE to be removed.

1. Whizzer
2.Demon
3.American Eagle
4. Iron Wolf?

Heres why, because all of these with the exception of Whizzer have larger footprints, in the case of Demon, it has a rectangular size footprint that does necessarly comver a large area but that Coaster is aging(Not saying that age has anything to do with it)
American Eagle is easy, that ride takes up a HUGE space and could easily be replaced by "better" attractions

Keep in mind im not advocating these attractions to be removed(yes not even Whizzer) but, I wager that these 4 rides are the next to go if and when further attractions are going to be added.

What do you think?

I think any kinda of expansion would take place by the gokarts and the shuttle.
Waiting to fill this space with something stupid to say!

The mouse coaster is indeed going in where the suspension bridge is.

3 of the 4 flats will utilize the area between the railroad bridge and the Yankee Harbor bridge.

As for further expansion, if they get creative, they can do it without removing existing rides.

Just visit Indiana Beach and you will see what I mean.

A waterpark is the next big addition this park should consider. The bus lot would fit this perfectly.

Before asking "where would the busses park?", they can put the overgrown gas guzzlers at the far back of the lot right by the tollway.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Yes, I believe that we are out of conventional expansion space. I don't think we can fit too much more without having to take something out first.

I hope that that means the bus parking lot will get the axe and not the Winner's Circle and Space Shuttle America part of the park. Without thoes rides our park would be missing something (no trackless cars and no motion simulator, and I don't care how much you people hate those rides, they attract people).

First off, I doubt that they will take out Demon, since that is the only sitdown full-circut looping coaster in the park. Plus it's good for people who aren't really fond of coasters, but wouldn't want to keep riding the whizzer all day.

I think the waterpark thing won't happen. I mean it would only be open from probably Memorial to Labor Day. So 3-4 months at the most. Plus it costs a great deal of money to pump water back all day. If you want a water park experience, go to Wisconsin Dells. Plus, isn't some hotel/convention center being built right across from the park that will have an indoor park or something like that?

As stated before the bus lot and the the SSA/Winners Circle areas are prime for the building. The parking lot is never filled to capacity anyways so don't tell me it is. I've seen the 2nd lot pretty packed on some days but not full I've see it full once and that was FF 94 so that was a long time ago, theres room. Also, if worst comes to worst the lake next to S:UF, might be the parks land or they mightbe able to buy it somehow...

I don't think so, and I think the last, last, last resort would be to remove the Eagle. It's way too prominate to the park. People would not like that. And like Chitown said visit Indiana Beach, it's amazing how they fit everything. They could build around and through ride that would acually be fun.

Or as I have said many times. As what Alton towers has done with Air.

We have enough room for probibly a new entry midway, and a few coasters, plus a new section if they built on the other side of the highway. Its highly likely because they still wanna do it, but they couldn't because of the washingtion street construction. Also, with tim black, he added 25 rides to sfgadv one year, and a 45 acre water park the next. This guy seems to like to expand and make big investments. And dont say, ohh hes the gm he doesnt have that much power, because he does, I dont think six flags incorperated would have just decided to add mardi gras this year if it werent for tim black.

i think they should add a hollywood blvd like the one shgoen here in the parking lot: http://oneclick.coasterbuzz.com/html/pi ... ood_01.jpg

I think that if there is a space problem, which there is not, could be solved with a parking garage. That would free up a lot of space.

I agree. A Parking Garage - old parking spaces - cement + coaster manufacuer + alot of new stuff = NEW AREA. Also I think a Hollywood type thing would mae a great Addition.

Maybe a new monster parking garage? LOL

A parking garage is WAY too expensive and unnecessary in my opinion. We have lots of parking spots in the prarie, I mean the overflow lot.

Speaking of parking lots, I would like to see the Washington Street entrance opened again. Can't they just move it so it doesn't run under the Eagle? (For those of you who don't know why it closed, it was for security reasons)

If they would build a parking garage, they would have to move the entrance, columbia, and others. If six Flags was willing to move thooses up, they can, and should build an overflow parking lot behind Madris Gras and SUF. Use the excistin overslow as the main parking lot. Finally move Coursel Plaza forward. There is your solution.

Stop lying. WHY MUST YOU LIE?! GAm will never take down American Eagle seeing as how it's one of the most popular attractions at the park.

Okay, look at how crazy already it is getting out of the park... Then imagine everyone trying to get out of a parking garage at the same time. Seems to equal chaos to me. Though I'd love all the space it'd free up, would it be practical? Probably not.

Okay, it would cost A LOT, and be very chaotic, but so is the lot they have now. In the long run a garage is the lesser of two evils simply because of the lagre amount of space it would free up. (not to say they're evil)

Demons staying, end of story. The bus lot can be easily replaced by a new territory, seeing that they can move the bus lot to the north east section (near the employee lot and lake) but they cant build attractions there.

And by utilizing the existing bus lot for a new territory or waterpark, Viper and Raging Bull won't be considered parking lot coasters anymore. :)

Disney utilizes a parking garage in California and it works extremely well without being 'chaotic.' And it is a busier park....
