After having 1 stolen this last season I am looking to see what everyone does for their cups?

My son and I can't leave the cup with anyone with a stroller, etc for riding, and I really don't like shelling out 15 bucks a pop everytime one gets stolen.

I finally settled on putting my name with silver magic marker on the lid and bottom and then packing tape over the names to keep them from being rubbed off.

What else have you guys done to keep the cup safe?

I think next year I might put duct tape on the handle and write my name on the tape.

I share your woes, seeing as this happened to us TWICE this season. I honestly can't fault anyone, though because I feel like they THINK they're grabbing the right one but they're not. The only thing I can suggest is the ride lockers. Sure, it sucks to shell out the extra clams and not have a drink while waiting in the *wonderful* fright fest lines...but if its a day that you're getting the free refills anyway, just view it as paying for your refills again.

I really miss the old belt holsters and the "loose" loose articles policy haha. I remember riding Shockwave with a half full drink at my hip and not getting a drop on me :P
Missing Shockwave more and more every day.

glue some fake vomit on top. The higher quality the better. That should deter most would be thieves. :D

^Not a bad idea. I have said this time and time again that SF needs to consider the Cedar Fair option.

I think if you put anything in writing on your cup, you have a better chance of people not stealing it. They are going to steal one of the ones in which it's hard to identify what bottle it is - a bottle that looks just like any other bottle. A way they could counter-act the theft would be to have a season pass connected with the bottle. However, that would mean people without a season pass couldn't get one. An even better idea to me would be when you buy the bottle, Six Flags gives you coupons for $1 drinks let's say for 10 refills during the year. If you don't have a coupon, too bad. You aren't able to get a refill for a $1. Or, they could create a piece of paper or card that says you must show this card everytime you want a refill for a $1. It could be a plastic card with a barcode on it.

Or, what Six Flags could do is make the bottle cheaper, and than say only on one day you can get unlimited refills with a wristband on your hand. The wristband has to be on your hand in order to get a refill. It can't be just attached to the bottle. Six Flags could easily get creative, and help deter the problem, but I doubt they will.

So far putting writing on it during the season has helped. I also saw someone doing the tape on the handle and the name on the tape, seems like that worked pretty ok as well.

I'd just rather not have 2 stolen next year on me ;)

Ive seen people leave their souvenir cups behind. They probably were one of those once a year visitors and just wanted it for the free refills for that one day. Its a pain in the butt to carry a cup around. I guess some people have no problem with it, but thats just me in my opinion.
