I agree. I am suprised someone is actually having another one of these made. Maybe they worked out the kinks...Who knows...

Yeah my guess there new software for GIB works good. Its cool that there building another one. Our six flags probably regrets removing our GIB since it runs fine at silverwood.

I'm sure there have been numerous updates to the ride both in the mechanical and software department.

The current company calling themselves Vekoma actually has very little relation to the Vekoma(technically VEKOMA as it was an acronym) that built the original 4 DV's. The current Vekoma is hell bent on fixing many of the previous company's wrongs, like the new programming on DV at Silverwood, Flyer vest restraints for the sit down coasters that you are seeing on a few boomerangs now, and the free fly seats for SLC's like what Morey's has. They have kept the successes of the original Vekoma like the Boomerang and SLC, but are coming out with new up to date stuff also like the Jr. Boomerang.

Nope, SFOG went to South America where it may or may not be built (zoning issues), this one is brand new.

Dear: Jin Jiang Action Park,

I would like to bring the following suggestions to your attention. You may want to add an unload platform on the boomerang. Also a second unload platform on the valley between the boomerang and the loop is probably a great idea as well.. Thank you for your time and I hope these suggestions were helpful!

Silverwood didn't build the evac platform under the boomerang and to my knowledge, they have not had to evacuate anyone from the train at that point. They have the ride running more smoothly than SFGAm did in it's last season here and have had very few problems overall. I think one of the only times they have ever needed to evacuate people from the ride was during a power failure. I don't think all the evac platforms are necessary.

If/when the train vallies in the Cobra Roll or valley between the loop and cobra, platforms are sure nice to have, rather than having to call the fire department and show up on the national news with riders stuck 120 feet in the air for hours waiting for a high reach ladder truck from the Spokane Fire Department.

The Party Deck (evac platform between loop and boomerang) was a good idea. However, to this day, I fail to see how the boomerang unload platform would have any use to people sitting in rows 1, 2, 7, or 8. Even rows 3 and 6 would be a little sketchy.

The funny thing about the unload platform that was between the loop/boomerang is that it wasn't ever used. The ride stalled there once (the day after opening day 2002) and the platform was built right after that, however it never stalled there after that. The people that got stuck there had to be evacuated with a cherry picker.

The boomerang platform did have a function in case the train stalled there they could push the train so it goes back to the station (which did happen once) instead of having to get a lift/cherry picker.

Oh right forgot about that, now I do remember the train was sitting there for over a week. When you spend as much time as we do at parks all the days blend together I guess :).

Wow so 8 riders can get off with relative ease and the rest are going to have problems.

I have a random question

How does a Cherry Picker work. I know they used one on Demon when it got stuck upside down in 1998 but how does it work??

Yeah, not much help for anyone not in row 4 or 5, which is why as BP/19 said, it was really more of a boomerang train pushing platform than a boomerang unload platform.

Always thought Six Flags should have held groups or corporate events (or coaster dork events) from the party deck.

How did maintenance push the trains off of that platform anyway?

Pretty sure they don't, from what I've heard/noticed on the 3 DV's the only pushing/pulling is done with a winch to get each car into a good unloading position, the empty train is then removed from the track car by car and reassembled in the station.
