Season pass problems.

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Bought a 5 pack for the family, got them processed on the 11th, went this past Saturday and 4 of the passes came up invalid or yellow and red color, so we went to Guest Relations and they couldn't figure it out so they stamped our hands and got free exit passes for the inconvience which was cool. Next day we went and only one pass had the same problem went back to guest relation and same thing they couldn't figure out why it was doing that, they say if it happens again they will give us new passes they think it is a glitch in a new system they are doing.

I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

When we bought our 2012 passes they told us the system was having a lot of glitches with things like passes taking a while to show up in the system, or ignoring parts of the registration that were having problems, so I'm not surprised to hear this and wont be surprised to hear about more problems either.

Thats nothing compared to the problems people have had using Platinum Passes for Cedar Fair this year.

Cedar Fair's platinum passes do not have pictures on them like SF passes do, and when you scan a CF platinum pass, the picture shows up on a screen and the attendant allows you to enter the park. My friend had a problem where his platinum pass showed a completely different person which the park, confiscated his pass (even though his signature was on the pass clearly) CF eventually issued him a new pass but even then problems persisted.

When he went to Cedar Point (His platinum pass was from Kings Dominion) the same thing happened again with the new pass. Since he was at CP, CF's corporate headquarters, He was allowed to get a NEW Platinum pass, this time a Cedar Point Platinum pass and has not had problems.

We just picked up our Family 4 pack with free parking, and only 1 pass had a glitch. But it was a printing issue.

I thankfully caught it while still right in front of the CSR, and they reprinted it out again.

When we go back this Friday we will get in with our new passes to test them.

Figured I'd ask here. I'd like to take advantage of the buy 4 season passes and get a free parking pass. My question is, some of the people that would be getting this 2012 pass won't be going until 2012 (just trying to get the better deal and obviously the parking pass) but I will - is it an issue? I will be the one to receive the parking pass, and will be there before Oct 30 and am wondering if this will be allowed or if all 4 people have to be present by the end of the year.

Thanks in advance. I haven't called the park to ask, figured I'd ask here and if no one has an answer I'll call.

At least CF didn't have their computer mis-programmed to over-charge people for a 4-pack of season passes! ;)

You have to activate all 4 passes by Oct 30th to get the free season parking pass.

Call. It might not hurt to ask. they may do it since the online order prints out the parking pass as well.

You may be able to do it. When I activate my pass we were all doing it separately in line, so maybe it doesn't make a difference when you purchase online.

I posted the same question on the Six Flags Facebook page, and this was their response... Hope this helps others in possibly having the same question or making a decision to get the (4) pack +parking.

While we encourage you to come and process your ID card now (because we do not replace lost vouchers), the person that is receiving the parking is the only one required to make it here by the 30th.

I have something I don't like. They are NOT giving people coupon books anymore. Instead, they are sending them through the email. So, every coupon you want to use, you have to print. That's pretty stupid!

^They need to just get rid of the coupon program and switch to what other parks do for their pass holders. Give 10%-20% off food and merchandise.

there is already and has always been a 10 or 15% discount in most merchandise shops if you show your season pass. No deals on food though.

I've rarely used the coupons anyway. On the off chance I do use one, I end up having to dig around my house or car for it because I typically lose it. This would make it easier for me since I could probably easily find the link or email and then search for something I'm likely to use. To me, the prospect of saving $5 when spending $20 on crappy food that I could buy elsewhere for $7 was never a good idea.

Now that's the start of a good idea.

To make it better, have it so you can show the coupon on your phone via an app or just the email and use it that way. Kudos for trying to save moohlah and I guess the environment ( ) - but you want convenience, how about doing that as well?

I agree thats lame. But Im sure the park wants to save $$$ on paper and help the environment too. I wonder if this means the entire Six Flags chain will no longer be using coupon booklets anymore. The other annoying thing is if you print out ur coupon and use it, the coupon will still be in ur email? How will you be able to remember which ones you used and which ones you haven't? I wouldnt be surprised if someone used one of their coupons one day and then a few months later they printed it out again and forgot they used it. With the booklet every coupon you use you must surrender so its not in your booklet again and can see which coupons you got left.
