Fright Fest 2011

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby CoasterNick3157 on October 2nd, 2011, 11:17 am
Whizzer had no fright fest name change, revy is still revy not the pit, fiddler fling is not flung, and I don't think viper was snakes on a plane. All in all I really see no differnece in theming from last year. 1 cool thing I see is a warewolf running loose by Iron Wolf in the dark which was cool, more like the mad wolf coming after us for getting rid of his ride, and wannabe fake looking monster sitting on a bench (Which was a real person) scaring people, if not for the security guard standing by I would have thought it was fake.

In line for Demon at 4:15pm watching a girl who's scared to death trying to navigate that rope bridge screaming at all of us to stop watching her. Better than any ride.

Definitely not.

My only complainant is no little free season pass holders walk through. No rise of the demon or area 51. My little one liked those. $26 for 2 for the medical massacre. A little steep and the line showed it. Zero in line maybe closer to Halloween people will willing to pay.

I think it's ridiculous you have to pay for these lame houses. The park should have 4-5 free houses and walk throughs.

Did anyone who was at FF over the weekend notice that they didn't have any of that brown creepy cloth set up around the park? They ussually have it hanging around all the fences and bridges around the park? Not that it's that big of a deal but come-on, that stuff is classic FF.

MMC and MOT where $13 or $7 before. I assume that was the price for the other two as well but I didn't see those signs. You could also do all 4 for $30.

We did MMC yesterday. It was ok but not really scary. Visually it was pretty neat and they had some cool scenes. They did some cool things but to me it wasn't dark enough to be scary. Glad we paid $7 for it instead of $13.

I was there sunday it was just ok to me. It was lacking in decorations to me. None of the rides had there ff names and Larry wasnt on stt.
I was glad to the reflection pool have it's classic red again and vines growing on the carrosoul and liked the actors there.
Scare zones
Sector 7: Actors were good but needed more decor.
Hellmouth: demons were goodlooking but needed more theming
Tinseltown terror: actors were ok was kind of confused with the area 51 trucks and ufo in the middle.
Ruins of fenir: thought actors were good but decor was sloppy it was just abunch of sticks thrown around.
Necropolis: I thought it wasnt as good compared to last year in general.
Port dead: thought actors were ok but not much decor.
Burn em burried circus: decor was ok the actors were pretty good here.
Bayou du vaudo: thought there were more actors but it was kind of dull.
Haunted houses:
Massacre medical center: thought it was really good best one there
Mot: thought it was just ok it was mostly old same animatronics actors were ok chainsaw was the best.
Studio 13: it was ok but to short.
Primal Scream: two short and I only saw 2 actors it pretty much sucked.

Primal Scream was extremely short and I too saw only 2 actors in it. I should have went after dark in that one. We went on Saturday and the crowd was really light and nice. Massecure Med center was by far the best haunt and I definitly agree with you BigFrank. I don't know if the park is done with decorating the park yet but it was really lacking in this department compared to years past. It was cool to see the Brutal Planet ovens( or were they smokestacks?) put to good use. They missed a couple of deceased rides in the graveyard though. Davey's Dingys and the other ride, I can't remember the name of it but It kind of looked like Davey's Dingys. It was some kind of Wooden shoe ride where the cars looked like dutch wooden shoes and flew out like Whirlygig. There was this one woman Vampire over in Ruins of fenir that was extremely sexy. I had dreams about her..lol.
Candy: What you lookin' at?
Otis B. Driftwood: I'm lookin' at you, mama.
Candy: Yeah, you see something you like?
Otis B. Driftwood: Maybe. I set my standards pretty low, so I'm never disappointed.

Where is this dead rides graveyard? I noticed on Dark Knight right after the train leaves the station, there is an old Deja Vu sign that says something like Where, and it says Gone. It says other stuff too on it.
"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

I saw a tombstone under STT saying "Larry RIP" on Sunday. Not sure if our friend is going to return. :(

I'm sure this just ruined FF

Big Frank wrote:Sector 7: Actors were good but needed more decor.
NO WAY! They got something right? BTW it's kind of creepy to just stand there filming scaractors (I saw you doing it)

Big Frank wrote:Hellmouth: demons were goodlooking but needed more theming
What should they add?

Big Frank wrote:Tinseltown terror: actors were ok was kind of confused with the area 51 trucks and ufo in the middle.
I agree it's weird to have Area 51 in SWT, however TT has like 200% more actors this year

Big Frank wrote:Ruins of fenir: thought actors were good but decor was sloppy it was just abunch of sticks thrown around.
The ignorance of this statement is amazing

Big Frank wrote:Necropolis: I thought it wasnt as good compared to last year in general.
Why?

Big Frank wrote:Port dead: thought actors were ok but not much decor.
Perhaps true...for now

Big Frank wrote:Burn em burried circus: decor was ok the actors were pretty good here.
Decor was just ok?

Big Frank wrote:Bayou du vaudo: thought there were more actors but it was kind of dull.
Well what would have made it better?

Big Frank wrote:Mot: thought it was just ok it was mostly old same animatronics actors were ok chainsaw was the best.
What kind of budget do you think they have?

Big Frank wrote:Primal Scream: two short and I only saw 2 actors it pretty much sucked.
So how would you have made it better?
I'm irreverent and stuff...

I thought this extremely cool. It seems SFGam went all out in some areas and in others hardly anything. But I still had a blast. Ya know, I'm 48 and it's true, you never lose the kid in yourself.

It was a scene in Necropolis. I'm a huge fan of Pawn Stars and had to get a pic of it..lol. Necropolis was pretty cool this year.

My 8 year old and I had a blast. terror twister 2 was really cool this year (we rode it about 4 times), Rue le Morgue was alot of fun as well.

revolution was super cool, I like that they amped it up, just wish they'd do that all year long.

We had fun checking out the scare-actors and the interactions. I was bummed they turned the pentagram across from the demon in front of Buccaneer's battle into a circle with a dot in it. Guess they didn't wanna piss off fundamentalists / religious types.

All in all, really fun.

Yeah I have a feeling we missed some things. I was kinda feeling blah sick
Saturday but still had alot of fun checking out the sights. Especially the one sight with long blonde hair and fangs in Finfir. :) :D
