For the people that say well he could have had a fake name, and get in; I think that it only takes ONE person to figure it's this guy that did something wrong. Sure, maybe the parking booth people nor the entrance people remember him, but what about a ride op in the park, or a security guard? And if they go more than once or twice a year, eventually park employees will remember this person. His best plan would be to move near another park.

I work in retail and whenever someone shoplifts we do remember their face for a week or so and keep a lookout for the next weeks but then everyone forgets eventually. If I were him I would definitely take the risk and go to the park prolly at most 3 or 4 times. Its not like he was carrying a weapon. Oh well. Im done with this topic. Hes banned for life...we cant change that...its set in stone.

From the full article in the paper, he claimed to have been following the directions of a parking attendant and a security guard thought he was trying to jump a barrier. Guard probably said get out without conversation.
If that's the case, I don't know about you, but I'd be pretty furious if I followed the directions of an attendant and was told to leave. I probably wouldn't just walk away in that instance. I'd probably go back and try and straighten it out, which sounds like what he did. Then he got banned just on the bare attempt of trying to enter the park again.
Assuming what he says is true, I'd be pretty angry too.
I think it's really easy to agree with the park on lifetime ban's until you're put in the same situation. There are very few instances where I can see a lifetime ban being appropriate. I honestly think of it like a school. Schools give out a lot of detentions. Less Saturday detentions than after school detentions. Less suspensions than Saturday detentions. Less suspensions than expulsions.Of course there are some instances where you skip the detentions and what not but you get the point.
A system that mirrors that would be excellent in my eyes at least.
I agree that Great America should be more strict against cameras and phones but it would suck if they stopped a ride everytime they say somebody with a phone or camera. I think it would slow ride operations way to much.
The main reason you don't see rides getting stopped for cameras and cell phones more often is that unlike Cedar Point, the ride ops aren't allowed to restart the coasters. So anytime a ride is stopped, they have to wait for maintenance or a supervisor to restart it.
Sort of a dick of a ride op in my opinion. Gonna call security to punish the guy because he tried to hide his camera. What did he expect? Sounds like an ATL on a power trip.

I don't think we have to worry about Rob dropping anything. It is possible that he could drop it but I highly doubt that will ever happen. He has been video taping rides for many years and hasn't had a problem that I know of. I would't worry about him doing anything wrong. Sense the parks usually give him permission to video tape their rides they must trust him.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Saying you got permission and actually having permission are two different things. There are some parks that are fine with him duct-taping cameras to their rides, but there are many more that aren't.
