Sunday September 18th?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby RagingFanatic on September 18th, 2011, 8:38 pm
Hi Everyone!

So, today, I found out that the park was rented out by a company, but I am unsure which company that was. I'm interested because I was going to go today, but had to cancel last second. Can someone tell me? I can't seem to find out... Also, I was interested to find out that the park closed early and I am wondering why for that too. Thanks so much!
Last Visit, American Eagle BACKWARDS 5 times in a row right before the park closed. I cannot WAIT to go back for Fright Fest!

IDK why but all I can tell you is that the park won't open to the general public until Oct 1. SFGAm is only open Fri-sats in october only. (AT least coming from a general public perspective). Any other info I would not be the person to talk to.

They have these private events thing because they believe that less people are going to show up today, and the last weekend in September. Though, before it was reversed and they had the last week of September open, and the first week of October for Fright Fest was closed.

They have these private events a lot. A lot of the Fridays I'm noticing that they are having the park open maybe around 4 pm, or so for private parties. The GP thinks no one is at the park on Fridays in September, but that's not the case really. It's just private parties renting it out for the night / day. The one day I was at the park when they did have a private party the same time that the general public was there, it was Target. They had ONLY the new area of the waterpark open when the GP couldn't get in it, and than when the GP left, they were still allowed to ride rides. I'm guessing 2 hours more.

SO you're saying the general public can go to the park those fridays the park is actually open and on the site it says the park is closed??

No, they can't. I'm just talking about the one Friday in which the park was open to everyone, but they had a private party also. It was Aug 26th. If you look at the calendar, you see Hurricane Harbor closed, but the park was open.

The private party was in the "closed" Hurricane Harbor.

That makes no sense. The park is open Fri-Sun for a bit in September and all of October.

are you drunk? The park is closed for the remainder of the month and it states on the website the park will ONLY be open fridays-sundays in october. the ONLY other day that its open is Oct 10 for Columbus day which the park will be extremely crowded. I refuse to go to the park that day specifically plus the park is only open until 6pm that day!

I know I messed up people, but Friday is ONLY open for private parties in September! Last Sun, and next weekend, the park is NOT open for General Public, but it's open for private parties. Of course, the calendar says it's closed until Oct 1st because they are talking to the General Public, not Private Parties. The park doesn't want people to know they are renting it out to other people.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm actually going to the park this Sunday because my neighbors company rented it out. We're supposed to get a behind-the-scenes tour too. I'll see if i can get a PTR done and see if any progress has been made on IW or X-Flight. Anyone else want me to find out certain things?

^I know your asking the person above, but SFGAm has said American Eagle on the Sept 17th was the last day for backward! The ops were even saying it's the last day for backward. Granted, they could have run the 18th for the private party, but I don't expect them to run it backwards again this year because they already announced that they are stopping it.

American eagle only had the red side up and running. Probably switching the trains back around or something. The only fright fest stuff i saw up was the inflatables and set up stuff outside where Necropolis would be.

Does anyone know if they had a season pass holder only night like they did back in 2009?? I think I may be getting a season pass next year and I am already trying to plan my schedule according to six flags's.
