1990 brought the first ever B&M roller coaster to the world with Iron Wolf at Six Flags Great America, 1992 brought the first ever inverted coaster with Batman the Ride, 1999 brought the introduction of the B&M hypercoaster with Raging Bull, in 2001 Great America added to their impressive list of B&M coasters with the addition of Superman Ultimate Flight, the unique flying coaster. Six Flags will blow the roof of the roller coaster world in 2012 by continuing this tradition by adding "ORACLE" - A Wing Rider coaster like no other in the United States.
The new coaster will stand at 125 feet tall, and will be located in the County Fair area of the park in the former site of the Splashwater Falls ride. "We are excited today to announce the plans for one of our most exciting roller coaster additions ever," said Hank Salami, President of Six Flags Illinois. "Oracle, themed after the popular DC comics character, will feature a unique train system where the riders are seated on the outside of the track, not above or below it, and will have an ultra intense 115 foot completely vertical first drop followed by over 4,000 feet of twisting, inverting, steel track."
This season Great America is adding Riptide Bay, a new water park expansion that will add three acres of new attractions, including a double-sided surf simulator, caribbean-inspired activity pool, new water slides, and more. With twelve world class roller coasters, the best water park in the nation, family rides, shows, and entertainment for all ages, Six Flags Great America is the midwest's premier theme park entertainment destination. Construction on ORACLE, the new roller coaster, will be starting this summer and the ride is expected to open in Spring 2012.
Wow. I know screamscape seemed pretty sure that we were getting a coaster for 2012, but I didn't expect an announcement so soon! How is it gonna fit in Splash's footprint? And why pick Oracle for a name?
Man, I've got no idea where I've seen that picture before. Some European company maybe.
This is the greatest day of my life.

Can't believe you guys are falling for this. Did nobody remember today's April Fools day? Or notice that the link for the press release is a YouTube video? Yikes
^why get excited? Since when does Six Flags hold a Press Release of a new ride more than a year in advance? Six Flags usually makes a Press Release after construction begins...They like to be late.
If you really wanted to know if Six Flags Great America was building something you'd be stalking the City of Gurnee's website for Six Flags to appear in a ZBA meeting.
"I've been told that some part of every wish will be heard but lately I lost sight of the truth in those words."
^I said I got excited for a SPLIT SECOND. Believe me, I know the process in which SFGAm needs to go through in order to build a coaster. Besides isn't that what April Fools is about, to make people fall for stupid jokes. I got a good laugh out of it.
I showed this to my friend. When he saw the picture his face lit up and he said "WAY better then Chang!" I then said "APRIL FOOLS!" and I swear I thought he was going to cry.

I'm told the B&M track heading north on 65 north of Indy was definitely Wingrider track coming from Clearmont Fab in Cincy. Only reason to go north on 65 in that area is to get to MiAdv, SFGAm, WI Dells, VF! or Adventureland in Iowa. Only 2 of those parks stick out as possible recipients with VF! being the far lesser of the 2.

Im starting to suspect some of the moderators know more than the public does about what/will happen(s) well ahead of time or before the public and us know about it. o_0
