A stupid decision made by a New Berlin Wisconsin man, has landed him in an awkward position. Being banned for life from the park.
Kudos to the park, some guy thinks he's above the rules, gets caught and pays the penalty. But really how is he going to avoid not getting caught?
Nevertheless, kudos to SFGAm.

Boneheaded move by this guy and now he is paying for it. He seems to want attention since he is standing right outside the park posing for a picture for the media.
However, I don't know if lifetime banning fits this. The other lifetime bans stated were for dangerous situations. I would say a season or two. He should have just stayed out after the first time. I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
For this person, I also say 1 or 2 seasons. I probably seen a person banned for life. This person jumped in back of V2 where the Generators & fans are to get a hat. Eventually, security came, and escorted him away. The thing is, is that life is a very long, long time. I don't think that person for V2 should be banned for life. Yes, punish the kid for a year, and he does it again, than punish him for 10 years, but life is so long.
Basically, that kid / person (for V2) made one mistake, and they are going to never come back ever again. Seems too harsh to me. Now, a person that purposely beats up people in the park (like the Fright Fest characters), they shouldn't be doing that at all, and I don't have any remorse for them. "I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"
I forgot to post this earlier, but last saturday when I went to six flags I saw a bunch of people jump out of the Superman queue into the grass area where if you go there you get "banned for life". I didn't see anyone catch them, and there was at least 10 people who ran away after they did that. They didn't even seem to be looking for a hat or anything.

The people jumping fences into restricted areas should be banned for life because they put themselves in a dangerous situation and if something happened to them, the park would most likely have a lawsuit on their hands.

I think that the park is making an example of this guy, too bad.
He broke the rules, and deserves the punishment. I am so sick and tired of people thinking they are above the rules. So what if its too harsh, The parks rules are rules.
It sounds like the park really didn't take that much issue with him trying to park for free. The main thing was he was told to leave, then he tried to go back into the park which constitutes felony trespassing for which he could have been prosecuted for Anyone who commits a felony on park property has no business ever going back. If stupidity is punished maybe it will become less prevalent.

Electricity is some really serious stuff. With the amount of power needed to run V2, that is a very dangerous place to be for anyone. Granted, the generators are insulated well so that nothing would happen if you touched the outside of one. Still though, it's a higher risk area than other areas of the park, so guests need to stay out. As for the article, I agree with everyone else saying this guy seems like a douchebag. He's also an attention whore. Getting banned from SFGAm or any park for not paying for parking is hardly something to brag about and won't get you any street cred. As for law abiding society, everyone just thinks he's an arrogant jerk who thinks he's above the rules because he's head of marketing with some company that sounds like it does something cool. As an engineer, I generally think that sales and marketing people are a shadow of the devil, and this guy seems to follow that stereotype. The park doesn't do this for everyone who doesn't pay. If someone slips by the gate, I'm sure they just send security over to tell them, "Hey, you need to pay $20." At that point, most people will feel embarrassed and pay the fee or just leave in a huff claiming it's too expensive. This guy just kept pushing it and got banned. I'd normally say this would be worth the rest of the current season and next season, but the way he handled this makes me think that a lifetime ban is just fine.

Something tells me that there is more to what happened when he was caught the second time - I bet he mouthed off or got physical with security / management...but of course he'd have selective memory in not mentioning it to the Tribune.

He is only truly banned if he is stupid enough to revel his name next time he goes, which I am betting he is.
I could see him being banned for a certain number of years, but NOT for a lifetime. It does not take a lifetime to learn not to disobey rules/laws. He was breaking the rules AND setting a bad example. Clearly there are signs and rules visible everywhere and some signs state that there is lifetime banishment from the park if you break specific rules. If he was arguing and maybe provoking the staff/security I can see their tempers rise and just going ahead and immediately issuing a lifetime ban from the park. Simple and quick, not thinking clearly about it. I woulda banned him for sometime between 5-10 years. Honestly I think banning anyone from the park would wanna make them come back even more. Maybe not next season but probably 2 years later. I mean I doubt security can do all the tasks that they do PLUS memorize faces and names of those who are banned. Simple tip: don't get a season pass and don't pay with your own credit card if you do get banned, then no one will know your name.
 But in the end, rules are rules and no one like someone who thinks they are above the law/rules and go ahead and do whatever the hell they want. As long as he is punished thats all that matters.
Banning a person for life just because they followed the instructions of a parking attendant(one of SF's employees BTW) is a little steep & is a good way to gain negative publicity for the park....I would agree with removing someone indefinitely for theft or trespassing in a restricted area to retrieve a lost item however as that puts everyone's welfare in jeporday but this is just ridiculous if you ask me. At most he should be banned for just a season & if he repeated the offense then a permanent ban should be considered.
Great America is not a casino, so I agree that as long as you pay cash for everything and don't buy a season pass, then you'd be undetectable in the park. It would however bite him in the ass if he started trouble again or got into an accident and someone got his identification off of him. Then they'd know who he was and charge him with trespassing. He'd have to be smart to avoid confrontation, but something tells me he isn't since he didn't avoid this whole situation in the first place.
^To go with that, he better hope he avoids it and gets charged. The park presses charges every time someone trespasses and gets caught.
He would have to be idiot of the year to get in trouble again at the park.
Not sure when he got banned, but if it was from 2006-present, he hasn't missed anything.

Let's be honest. If this guy didn't go on his media rampage, he could probably just visit as a regular guest next season and no one would be the wiser. Wear a hat and grow a beard.

This. I doubt if he comes back to the park in 5 years, every employee at the parking gate and entrance gate will have his face memorized. What if he got a legalized name change, or just makes one up?! Yes, I'm glad he got punished. But there are many ways to re-enter the park with a ban like this. 
Honestly, some people make me question our education system..
