A little Cedarpoint help

Talk about anything that has to do with the amusement park industry here.

My friend and I are heading to Cedarpoint on August 4th from 5-10pm and August 5th from 10am-5pm. What way should we go both Thursday and Friday. Friday we are running to TTD and Magnum and I want to ride Maverick before the line gets long like it always is. Any advice would be hepful!

I would try to hit MF early one day and TTD the other day. Try Staying on property cause then you get tickets for $30 a person. And you get to go in an hour early. TTD doesn't open early but MF ID Maverick and Raptor do. One More thing i don't think Magnum ever gets a long line and its high capacity so i would just try to go to Maverick after TTD

I know I want to go to Maverick because that line never dies down and I dont mind waiting for Millennium Force because that is my favorite roller coaster. As for the hotels my friends dad is coming with us but he is golfing and he does alot of business so we get free hotel stays.

Eh, Maverick dies down SOMETIMES at night....Sad youre leavin at 5pm all those days, cause the lines for the major attractions shouldnt really die down till later than that. Now I cant be too sure cause sadly I went to that park EVERYDAY I worked there & even the days I was off, riding Mav & Millie all those days so I will say there were times Id wait only from the que house/stairs onward for Maverick. Other than that, you're lookin at a pretty packed park from here on out with lines anywhere from 1-4hrs. Magnum sometimes only has a 15min wait, even Mantis....you just gotta catch them at the right moments.....Wicked Twister HARDLY EVER has a line, so enjoy that one. Then again, with the new Windseeker right there, that may have changed slightly.

On millennium, we had a pretty quick crew & IF the line is at the last "zig zag block " we called them, then this years crews should be able to put you through in a half hour or less. Other than that, Id hit it early in the AM or last at night but youre not gonna be there for the line to die down. Shes the most popular beast in the park <3 (As a side note I miss here haha)

You know honestly, I dont wanna waste your time like I possibly just did, but it really is different everyday at CP cause you have people world wide visiting that park, not all locals so its always busy. I mean there have been times Ive waited 10min for TTD, Mav, Millie, Mantis, MXL200, etc

I will say this though.....

Ride Magnum in the THIRD row, thats first car, last row
Ride Millie in 92 (last row), bayside is most popular
Ride Wicked Twister in row 15...seriously
Ride Gemini on blue back row.
Ride Mantis in either row 2 or 7
Ride TTD in either very front or back

Those are my suggestions...for now... ;D haha

Im going that same week on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Ive only been there one time prior and it was your average CP day from what I hear. But i noticed that it died down around lunch and dinner time. Then again a lot of people wait till like 5 to go in the park. So expect to have slightly shorter crowds around 2-5 pm.

Hope you have a great time!

You'll wait for the bigger rides no matter what time it is. Magnum, Raptor, Gemini, Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Mean Streak, and Wicked Twister will all have significantly shorter waits at night.

Just don't ride Raptor first. That line gets ridiculous immediately because its the first thing people see.

If you're going to start with Maverick, Dragster, or Magnum, park in the Soak City lot and enter through the Magnum gate. You'll come in between Magnum's entrance and Gemini. They're really far from the front gate.

The lines for Maverick, Dragster, and Millenium will always be at least an hour wait. Because of ERT in the morning, you could get to Maverick or MF two minutes after 10 and it'll still be an hour wait. However, if you time it right it's really easy to get short waits for most of the other coasters. Starting in the back of the park and work your way to the front will help alot and you'll get short waits on everything back there that isn't Maverick.

I've never seen Wicked Twister's line above 20 minutes.
Disaster Transport will be shorter later in the day when people don't care about the air conditioned queue.
Blue Streak has never been super long in my experience, but waiting until later will still probably help.
Raptor: The longer you wait to ride it, the shorter the line will be.

Iron Dragon and Gemini are probably the best "people eaters" in the park, these lines always move really fast. Magnum's line also moves quickly.

MaxAir's line always looks longer than it is because the queue is really short. Usually it's about a 15 minute wait if you're interested.

Don't miss Cedar Downs, the racing carousel. One of only two left in the country and a great, classic ride.
