I want a V2 shirt this ride gets no respect! I see they have IW tshirts this yr.
I had a V2 shirt which I bought in 2001 when it opened. However, I have yet to see them again at the park. I do recall seeing shirts for Iron Wolf, and surprisingly, Whizzer.
American Eagle is one of my favorite rides! Probably 3rd or 4th on my list. Nobody else i know likes it saying its to jerky and shaky but that's just part of the fun of it. I love those hills! It would be so cool if they would run it backwards at least once or twice. I have always wanted to try it!
I think whoever made all those SFGAm coaster/ride videos for the site (Gavin?) should make an American Eagle video to celebrate the Eagle's 30th year. Fans of AE:R raise your hands and scream! Red is the king!
Speaking of which, how well are they doing on the Eagle when it comes to racing the trains? Are they being dispatched at the same time or as close to it as they can come to give a fair race for both red and blue, or are they cheating the riders out of a fair race?
Which side is winning more this season, red or blue?
I remember last year that I got cheated out of a fair race on Eagle twice on the same day, once on Red and once on Blue, it was horrible and it pissed me off.
On a side note, it would be a good idea to make a video for Viper too.

Were you that one TR that you kept alterating sides and the other one would always win and then your train got stuck and someone from the other side spit on you
NightRider785 wrote:Where is this talk of topper track coming from? Is it rumor or fact? If its fact is there a link to something official??
I got the rumor from Screamscape. Screamscape isn't really that reliable. But if we got the topper track, I hope it makes Eagle a bit faster.
On another note, I can't decide which side is better: Red or Blue. I know one side has a lot of big airtime and dips which I prefer a lot but also last season, when I went on red side, it got stuck twice and at the same exact spot! It was right before the top of the climb. We were watching blue go by and the people staring at us. How rude and annoying. Why do people stare??! The wait for repair wasn't long. 10 min at most. But we didn't get a free drink coupon or anything because of the ride getting stuck. The coaster literally only had to make it an extra couple of feet and it woulda made it over the hill due to gravity.
Opinion: Red side seems to have better hills at the end, as stated above. But at the same time blue side always breaks down more often when I am there. I just happen to be one of those weird people that loves to be on the ride when it breaks down! Plus the blue sides station brakes sound squeaky, which gets me kinda excited, love air brakes!!
On monday a group of my friends was on daredevil dive and blue side was stuck idling up the chain lift, took about 5 minutes to get over! I woulda loved to be on that train lol

I can't be the only one who realizes that Red will always win if the trains are released at the same time, right? Red has the shorter track length because they have the tighter helix.

Nope. Blue always gets a head start because the lift hill chains are much faster then Reds.

I noticed that even when Blue is released out of the station first, it will lose. Even if it has a faster chain life, the helix is really when the red train catches up to the blue train and passes them during the final hills and helices.
Yeah, blue side is a few hundred feet shorter than red. It has the inside track of the barrel, only one hill on the return run with the long and low straightaway, and the final helix is a little more than half the size of red. On the other hand the trims will always hit much harder on the blue side.

Let me guess, the red side is catching a lot of speed? I've noticed a few times that the blue side has gotten around the helix a lot faster than red side, perhaps because they slowed the red train down a lot at the top of the helix, and blue zipped right by us!
Oops, my bad on the barrel thing. The rest is accurate though. However of course the trims are adjusted daily according to weather, the condition of the track that day and in general and other various factors.

Just like running on a track whoever has the inside lane has the advantage. Thats why during relay races the fastest person will have the outside track so its fair for the other players to run. Same concept goes for professional auto-racing.
